D'Antoni was abysmal when he was with the Lakers.
Replace MDA with Spoelstra on that tier? _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Wow, not one peep about Kerr in this thread. Was he just a pretender all this time? LOL
I can coach a team with Durant, Curry, Klay, Green, Iggy and rest of the crew and win a chip.
I assume you're no Phil Jackson fan, then?
hey now, Phil took a pre-Gasol Kobe-Bynum-Odom-Fish team to the #1 seed in the West
True. It was just a Gasol-Kobe-Odom-Fish team
But no, I'm no Phil hater by any means. I believe he's the greatest coach ever. I was just challenging the other guy who discredited Kerr. Speaking of that, it's worth noting that Kerr coached the Warriors to the best record ever and a title before Durant got there. I believe Kerr is one of the best coaches in the league without question. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. Sure. Got to add Nurse in there too somewhere.
how bout Monty? Doc?
Monty for sure. Doc is up there too but he'll never get any love here. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there."

Honestly some Laker fans and media were worrying me with their criticism of him. I always thought Vogel was a great coach, what he did in Indiana with so little was proof in the pudding. I dont even understand how we can judge him in Orlando? This team is actually the perfect fit for him. They are grown men, he can talk to them as such, he seems the type.
Everybody throwing all this praise at Doc and crapping on Vogel I didnt get. Ive been said Doc is overrated. He won once with a stacked team. And he has coached way more talented teams than Vogel has. But now the tables have been turned. I do not think the Clippers or anybody for that matter will beat us in a 7 game series if we have most of our components, especially the big guns.
Just to throw it out there shout out to the rest of the coaching staff. 3rd quarter adjustments have been on point, and they are getting better.
I'd be putting Nurse, Stevens, Carlisle, Spoelstra, Budenholzer, Pop in the top group with Vogel. Kerr very hard to rank, as he's gone from probably the best roster (top level talent-wise) in the league to the worst, given the injuries, but he's in that company too probably. MDA and Snyder fill out the top 10

I remember Nurse making some boneheaded decisions in the finals last year which cost the Raptors at least one game. I always just assumed Spoelstra was only winning because he had LeBron/Wade/Bosh. Both Walton and Mike Brown showed that they were capable of winning with Kerr’s roster, so not sure how much he really added. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

So we ignore the job that Walton has done in Sacramento? No all NBA players and their best player out but they have become a team that will compete.
This thread is about top 10 coaches in the league, in which a solid case is being made for Vogel being among them. Are you actually trying to make a case that Luke Walton belongs in this discussion? Luke Walton of the failed Lakers stint, and the 7-10 start in Sacramento? I don't think Walton is necessarily a bad coach per se, but to try and insert him into this discussion is absurd (although not surprising considering your usual agenda).
Actually it isn’t, it is about NBA head coaches. Walton is an NBA head coach. Maybe try reading the thread? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Do you think Pop might be past his prime and has lost his touch, though? _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."
