I don't think it is likely we make a trade, but if a player becomes available that we want to sign, who gets waived?

Daniels most likely.

Cook could be good salary ballast b/c his 2nd year is not guaranteed.

Depends on the free agent.

Might also be no one.

It’s entirely possible (and preferred) if we sign a free agent without having to waive anyone.

My guess would be Dud just based on usage and team need. He's playing half the minutes of TD.

Nick Cannon.

But it would depend on who comes in.
If a guard, then perhaps one of the guards. If a wing or big, perhaps one of the bigs.

Dudley. They should bring him back as an assistant coach.

Troy Daniels won't get waived. He's AD's best friend on the team

I would be very reluctant to interfere with the chemistry on this team, and it's possible that Dudley, being an affable guy, and even Cousins, who seems really engaged and enthusiastic on the bench, have been contributing to that. I come from the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school.

We don't have an empty roster spot. If we sign another player, someone will have to go.

Not sure what role Dudley fills other than as the "victory cigar" that plays a token 3-5 minutes in blowouts.

Daniels. He looks like an outcast from the group and playing like it.

Locker room. Really key guy IMO.

My first choice is Cousins... never was a fan. He looked below average while surrounded by Steph+Klay+Durant+Draymond/Iggy and now he has more injuries+mileage. Even pre-injury peak Cousins always striked me as a good stats on bad team player and did not like that Cousins+AD tandem in NOLA (Im pretty sure they had a better net rating with Cousins on the bench). But I understand AD likes him so thats likely never going to happen.

After that I'd say Daniels because he's so redundant to what Cook brings.

I actually really like Dudley... I think he could have easily outperformed what Kuzma has been giving us if he got those rotation minutes... he's a better shooter and defender without all the low iq stuff that Kuzma does.

I know but then trading is an option.

Cook. With Rondo back and Avery coming back, his minutes are gone.

I wouldn't waive DMC. Worst case, we sign him again by Vet Min or bit higher for next season and retain his early bird rights.

It would be between Dudley and Daniels, and we happen to have more Gs than PFs in the roster.

At the end of the day as we say in the 'World of Work', it's all about the Business Need!

What would be the Lakers Business Need? IMO it's a defensive minded forward who could come in a spell LBJ for at least 10-15 min. per game and still allows us to get W's.

When it comes down to it, the Clippers may be our match up to get to the finals and if that's the case we will need a player who can switch on either Kawhi or George. Harkless and Harrell are other 'X-Factors' for the Clips who bring that DAWG mentality and tenacious play rounding out their front-court.

IMO Kenneth Faried is the player the Lakers need to cement an NBA Championship for this season. Faried was recently released by the Chinese National team where he averaged 17PPG and 10RPG. If he's not injured, the Lakers need to make a move to bring him on-board. If we need to sacrifice a roster spot, I'm sure it could be done without any significant damage.

At the end of the day Andre Iguodola would be the perfect fit, but I seriously doubt any other NBA team, especially the Western Conference Grizzlies would want to help the Lakers on their way to a championship...
