ESPN released their BPI (Basketball Power Index) along with corresponding Playoff and Championship Odds. The good news is we are #2 in Title Odds....the bad news is there is a major gap between #1 & #2.

Quote:
Milwaukee Bucks
- Win/Loss - 67-15
- Playoff Odds - 99.9%
- Title Odds - 57.9%

LA Lakers
- Win/Loss - 62-20
- Playoff Odds - 99.9%
- Title Odds - 16.2%

LA Clippers
- Win/Loss - 58-24
- Playoff Odds - 99.9%
- Title Odds - 10.2%

Bucks seem to be getting a lot of love, despite the fact that they seem to be playing mediocre teams every single night.. I’m not sold on them yet.

It's more to do with BPI's algorithm(s) not giving any respect to the Eastern Conference.

Basically the Bucks have a bye through the first two rounds, and then an easier Conference Finals, whereas we practically have to win two consecutive coin flips just to make the Finals (according to BPI, anyway).

Fivethirtyeight.com has a more balanced prediction.

They were beating down a fully healthy Clippers team by more than 40 That's probably why they're favorites

Prefer 538’s prediction system better than ESPN.

It correctly predicted Toronto Raptors last year to the surprise of its creators.

The model gets “better” after every game played but as of 12/13 it has...

Bucks - 24%
Clippers - 23%
76ers - 14%
Rockets - 14%
Lakers - 12%
Raptors - 6%
Celtics - 3%
Nuggets - 3%

Everyone else is below 1%.

LOL. Bucks will get swept in the finals by the Lakers, Clippers or Rockets. They can't hang with the premium west-teams and have the worst 2nd option out of all the title-contenders.

Sometimes I wish we were much worse than 21-3.

Just doubleteam Giannis and watch them crumble. Even the Mavs would probably beat them with ease if they make it to the Finals. Giannis won't win (bleep) without a real 2nd option, which Middleton clear isn't.

Clippers and Rockets have no one to stop Giannis. Bucks will terrorize them all series long.

Double team? Toronto needed all 5 to wall off the paint and only just managed to win. Double teaming won't cut it

If you just add hyperbole to every post, it makes things more true. The best, the worst, the fastest, the slowest, crushed, destroyed, easily, impossible, and so on.

That’s not a half bad idea. I’ll try that from now on

Now you’re just being reasonable. It’s not “half bad”.

It is .... cmon now ... the best idea you have ever heard and it sends all other ideas to crumbles.

Giannis has too many weaknesses to be a scary matchup. Can't shoot and can't hit FTs. Someone like Doncic is much more of a threat against us.
