AD-JaVale-Dwight-Boogie... no layups

No minutes.

I wonder who'll be the odd man out next year?

we got JaVale under contract but not Dwight.. i'm still not clear if we can sign Dwight first then go over cap for AD

AD will count as much against the cap as signing him would. They would have to use an exception. And if smart they will let Cousins go elsewhere.

I knew he was innocent, seems like a real decent normal guy, like Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby...

I have heard the exception has been used on AB for this year and next year because he was signed to 2 year contract.

No justice was served. He just got away with it.

Pretty sure it was his voice threatening her and he never denied it.

Just another case of domestic violence/ threats that does not get prosecuted due to the difficulties of prosecution or reluctance of victims to go through the system. Sad!

Didn’t like the initial signing. Re-signing him next year even less.

I think another playoff caliber team will over pay for Howard. Not sure what’s the most we can offer him, vet minimum? They probably bring back Cousins if Howard goes some where.

Yeah, that must be it... smh

I always thought “setting him up” would be planting something in his house or car. Imagine “making” that dumbass threaten to kill her like that. She is truly a mastermind.

Sadly it appears that Davis may his biggest supporter and Cousins re-signing will be another added expense to keeping Davis in free agency.

Terms like “set up” are too often used when the person has no real defense for his actions. He said what he said. A grown man can get angry, even use unkind language, but threatening to put a bullet in someone’s head is quite a bit different. He got away with it, but he said it. Let’s not pretend like
everything is cool.

Slim chance he’s back for the playoffs. That would be ahead of schedule for an ACL repair. For a man his size, it would be impressive.

You usually see football players make it back somewhat in that timeframe, but they generally aren’t as large and they mostly train for straight line speed. Basketball requires more jumping and cutting that may make it a tougher recovery.

If they cut him, they would still be liable for his medical bills, but would not have to pay him to fly, stay and eat on road trips...

They would save a lot of money, but I suppose it would send the wrong signal to prospective signees in the future...

Terrible signal indeed. Particularly to players who threaten to put a bullet in the head of their baby mama. Can’t get enough of those guys on your team.

We used the room exception on Bradley (app $5 mil). Next offseason since we will be over the cap (assuming we re-sign AD), we will have the non-tax payer exception (app $10 mil). And we can split that between multiple players if we choose to.

Not only his size but his lack of conditioning the past 3-4 years before the Achilles injury.

Losing him in the offseason was terrible luck for Laker Nation ...... he would have easily been our 3rd best player, contributing 15 and 10, and taking over a few games with a 20+ point effort.

Maybe, just maybe, with a little luck on our side, we get Cousins back for the playoffs, and he's fully healed for Round 2. I would hope we would not need him for Round 1.

Here's another clip of him practicing under the watchful eye of Judy Seto:

There’s a legit 3rd option. If he comes back in April and have some games to acclimate himself before the playoff , he can be that X factor. I can’t count on it but he can definitely get it done.

Really? I thought it was almost a blessing in disguise, because it made us sign Dwight, who is our most consistent role-player atm imo.
