Not really a Kobe vs LBJ argument, but I don’t want to murky up the LBJ thread so I’ll ask it here. Also full disclosure ... that LBJ will be passing Kobe in the coming days is an incredible accomplishment but has little bearing for me in the comparison discussion. Anyway, on to my question.

On what type of basket would you most like to see Lebron pass Kobe? And also, what type of basket would you least like to see it happen?

Most: Lull you to sleep, pull up 3.
Least: Free throw (lol)

Never.

Just kidding. A breakaway off a steal for the tammahawk jam would be sweet.

Congrats to LBJ for passing Kobe to become 3rd all time. Too bad you can’t also get us the win though.

For a player who doesn’t look to score, that’s a pretty remarkable achievement for sure.

No doubt. His durability has been insane.

Needless thread about a retired player (oh and in his prime no less)
compared to a soon to be retired player who is obviously not in his
prime but putting on a good fight against father time.

Totally needless thread IMO.

Nope it's totally necessary. Otherwise, we'd see repetitive Bron vs Kobe arguments pop up on multiple threads all over this forum instead of neatly stowed away in this thread.

Yup, doesn't matter what type of basket at all. Would've been nice to get to #3 in scoring in a WIN though.

Totally agree. The loss, and the manner in which we lost, definitely put a damper on the achievement.

I would say that the greatest effect of this thread has been getting some of the worst offenders banned. I have mixed feelings about this. By having a continuous thread on the subject, we all but encouraged excessive behavior that led to bans. But I guess that is better than having it constantly pop up in other threads.

This thread needs a break. Let's all respect that.

I wouldn't mind it being permanent.
