Only thing that matters is how they pay tribute to Kobe. So far been disappointed with how they've handled it. |
You serious ?? GTFO |
Right now is not the time to be critics.
I thought it was a lovely tribute. _________________ Lakers. Built different. |

This was about the least-surprising loss as you could possibly have. Lakers just went through most emotionally devastating week of any team in league history. They also, from a practical standpoint, hadn't played in a week. They then experienced a heartbreaking tribute. And then...had to go against a hot team with the hottest player in the league. I mean, fans weren't ready to *watch* this game or talked about how much trouble they had doing anything related to basketball fandom. Now imagine you knew Kobe. Loved him. Played against him. Were his peer, his friend. This isn't a movie. It's almost predictable they got beat. And many more could follow, short-term anyway. This season is not going to go like it was. That doesn't mean it might not end in a title. But the season where everything has gone smoothly for the most part, where everything works, where everything just seems to fit...that was shattered. Not on the court, but off it...and that in return will affect what we see in the games. |

This is the first time I didn’t care if the Lakers win or not. I just watched the game in a saddened haze. |

Apparently some folks thought tonight was game 7 of the NBA finals. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

They got back on the court, some normal returned. Hopefully they will build from that. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Since we lost this game, I'm a little concerned that we're about to go into a prolonged slump. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

I think as the season goes on, the team will return.
The first game back was always going to be tough.
Kobe’s presence will never go away this season, but as they continue to play I think the team will rally together. |

That’s a worry of mine too.
Almost like, with the tragedy, it doesn’t feel like basketball is so important. _________________ Clippers are our Daddy. |

The team has been losing marquee games all season.
I expected to see more intensity tonight. Especially on defense.
Hope it starts showing up soon because I’m not liking this trend. |

^^ I mean on the one hand, yes. But on the other this was clearly not a regular night for them either. I particularly think the Kobe tribute videos were challenging. You could see guys really trying *not* to look and if they did catch a glance. I noticed Dwight saw the screen and his entire demeanor changed for a moment. It had to have been very emotionally difficult. |

I expected a win but I also saw something like this playing out, I choose to see it as the Lakers loving Kobe so much they couldn't win with the hurt in their hearts.
That's why he's been our MVP for two decades. _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

I expected a great tribute - one that could have been even better if Rob was able to speak rather than Lebron but that’s ok.
And I expected a game to be played that means nothing in this short life that we live. What occurred in this game means nothing to me. |

Because it doesn’t in the grand scheme of things, these guys know Kobe and his family personally... should be ok by playoff tho, I think |

It's time to mix it up. I know Frank doesn't like to experiment too much because he wants guys to know their rolls... Which I respect. But I think it's time.
My starting 5 would be...
D39
AD
LBJ
Kuz
Avery - but collison if he should come and when he's back to playing shape.
And Frank, if you have no real offensive system, just start throwing more triangle sets into the mix. At least it's an actual offensive system. |

That was a re-run of Portland games, plural, that we've lost at Staples over the last 5 years. Dunno how many times I've seen that same game w/ Lillard scoring fifty-leven points. I was FFing thru it by the 3rd Q since I was watching it on DVR. We can have that same exact loss to them on a normal day, so I wasn't vexed. Onto the next. (Plus, that many days off in a row is rust time, not rest time, 3 days off is the most optimal you can possibly have, we lost that 1 in the 01 playoffs due to 11 days off, imo). Plus, plus, it's understandable due to the mood that the players are no doubt sharing. All in all, if you can go into any season and beat Port twice on the road and lose one at home, you'd take it and run. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL
