We join the Los Angeles community in grieving the tragic death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and the seven other victims of the recent tragedy. Kobe was an important member of the Make-A-Wish family – having granted over 200 wishes to children with critical illnesses. He was among the top ten most requested celebrity wish granters and even traveled to grant rush wishes, which was rare for a celebrity of his level. Our staff, volunteers and wish families remember him fondly, especially the ease and grace with which he interacted with our wish kids, making each of them feel special and loved. Upon his passing, many have reached out to express their condolences and to share what an amazing wish granter he was.
To honor him following his retirement from the Lakers, Make-A-Wish put together a video of just some of the incredible wish experiences he granted.
Kobe also joined us as our first celebrity honoree at Wish Gala 2013. His support and star power allowed us to raise awareness of Make-A-Wish in Los Angeles and made the Wish Gala the incredible event and fundraiser it is today. We are so grateful for his passionate support and incredible impact on our wish kids.
We hope you’ll join us in remembering Kobe’s incredible legacy with Make-A-Wish. Our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this devastating tragedy.
I initially thought those whose wish came true were the lucky ones to meet Kobe. But I think it was Kobe who was lucky to meet them. All the encounters surely made him grateful for being blessed with such enormous talents to be someone that inspired so many people of all walks of life.
I'll never forget Salvator who he met at Dave N Busters with his family and then proceeded to beat Kobe at horse circa 2006. Would love to see a follow up on Sal, he was fire from long range! _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.
I could only get through 30 seconds of it before closing the video. I just can't do this at work. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce!
Such a touching video. You can see it in Kobe's face that he really enjoyed meeting these kids. From what I read in the past Kobe really spent the time and had long conversations with these kids. He didn't just say hello and took pictures and went about his business. He really took the time to get to know these kids.
Kobe was truly one of a kind in every aspects a person can be. He is real life super hero.

Don’t have the energy to cry right now
same here.. my energy comes in spurts.. I see peoples posts I want to reply to and don't know what to say and then I think too long and get frkn sad.. bah...
Just have to think what our life would have been like had there never been a Kobe
A friend of mine worked with the Make-A-Wish foundation and she would always give Kobe praise on how good he was with the kids and how willing he was to do it. That wasn't the case with many athletes.

I saw t his video awhile back. Ugh, I still can't believe it. I just cant...
Like someone said above I am almost certain Kobe had come to terms with the fact he too would be forced to pass someday and he made the best of it.. These children helped steel his mind on what "Priorities" really are...
When I was a child I used to give all my money to Jerry's Kids and whatever telethon was on..
When I was like 11yrs old I sort of demanded my Mother give me more chores to do so I could earn more money for them..
so it really touches me to see someone care for a child in need and these 250 plus will forever be a shrine to humanity..
He touched not only the child's life but all the lives connected to that child.
Not a Kobe video but one I have posted before
3yr old chinese boy does random dance...
She asks the boy what his dream was.. it is ff to that part

One of my favorite things about Kobe was not that he did so many of these (that's magnificent in and of itself), but that he did them with the demand for no PR. As a guy who could have dearly used the PR help during the Denver aftermath, he kept this giving pure and private. That's the mark of a very good man. Well done Bean. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel

Kobe gave him something that I could never give him, something no one could. Even though he has a lot of family support, when someone of Kobe's stature shows how much they care, it blows you away.
At the very bottom is a link to send a message to Salvador. Ancient article though
