To those that watched the Expanse, how long did it take for you to get sucked in? I've tried to watch it based on the stellar reviews and the genre being right up my alley but couldn't get pass the first half hour.
The first half hour. I love the show though. I finally watched it I think long after reading about it here.

Early in the first season, give it another chance

This jail is legit.

I have not watched this weeks, but I saw a clip last week of the Marine that pointed out because he was a Marine he could handle it....then on the first day, dude looked like he was almost in tears claiming he wished he would not have signed up. Also, the guy that they identify as a college QB...I recall him @ UConn about a decade ago. He started against WVU back in the Big East days, but I think he transferred to Norfolk State after that season.

A&E on several advertisements have said only 3 out of the 7 make it this season. I think the UConn guy will be 1. The other 2, I have no idea.

This jail is no joke.

Me too. The first two episodes followed the book pretty closely. I had forgotten I'd read it until I read the episode summary.

Wish they could have brought in Justine Lupe from the Mr. Mercedes series to play Holly Gibney. She nailed that role.

Finally catching up on the last season of Orphan Black (it's all on Prime) and it's getting really good. I think I put it off for so long because I didn't want it to end.

Also super late (years) to the party but Bodyguard on Netflix is fantastic.

Messiah! Like it so far, feels like PG13 version of Homeland Brody seasons

Is that the show where Jesus is gay and Mary is addicted to drugs? Why? Don't get me wrong, I could care less if Jesus was gay, a female or 7' tall....but why take a figure that is so revered by a large portion of the population and assign characteristics that were never described in the literature? I am no religion expert, but does not most religious scholars kind of accept he was a dark complected man with dark hair and a slight build that performed miracles? Maybe I am missing the point, but why assign pointless characteristics to the figure?

No. Because it is about something else. Artist license. Religious scholars, yes; historians, not so much. It is, or can be, the nature of fiction.

finished the first season, it's good!

Same. Most people know Justine from Succession or Mrs. Maisel. But I'll always remember her as Holly from Mr. Mercedes.
It'll be interesting to see if they change the dialogue for the Sheriff's wife character for the show. Just to keep the audience guessing for as long as possible.

I've been watching the British series "Broadchurch" that airs on Netflix. Pretty good. There are only three season, and I'm now in the middle of the third. I recommend it. It's a good murder mystery.

The first season was particularly good with Dr. Who and Queen Elizabeth trying to solve a murder of Dr. Who's child.

Just started with Casa del Papel (Money Heist for the English-speaking market) on Netflix. Cool flick, really.

I am happy to hear this. I've been listening to Andy Greenwald on The Watch podcast for awhile and he seems like a really cool guy who has worked very hard on this. I hope this show is very successful.

I'm like 2 years late but I finished Orphan Black which was great. Tatiana Maslany's performances (she plays like 10 characters) are all incredible.
I'm finally getting around to Godless which is remarkable and while I almost regret not starting earlier I'm actually glad I waited until I upgraded my tv and surround sound before I started it.

Yesterday's Curb Your Enthusiasm was fantastic. Arguably the best episode ever.

Yes, love Harlan Coben's books. Looking forward to seeing if they turn his other ones into series as well.

Homeland is a series where i constantly wonder where they are going to be able to go from here, but sure enough, their final season is off to a new and great start. An homage to the premise of the first season.

I was just telling my friend that it was an all-timer. So many good bits. The toothbrush emergency was great (It's a FLUKE emergency!). As someone who once worked front desk, the bit with the front desk guy had me dying

Homeland Brody seasons are one of the greatest, up there with Wire, GOT and Soprano. Hope they can close the final season with a bang, not like GOT
