By the way, I was rooting for the Celtics like never before. I was thrilled for them. Sure, it may be wrong but thatโ€™s a good team and I like their chemistry and the way guys play. Fun to watch.

Also, I loved, absolutely loved watching the Clippers LOSE!!

Go Celtics! Ha ha

Up 6 in the loss column with 29 to play. 15 of the 29 against sub-.500 teams.

If the Lakers go 15-14 the rest of the way, the Clippers will have to go 21-6 to catch us.

If we go a very reasonable 20-9, the Clips would need to go 24-3.

If we continue at our current pace, we'd finish at 22-7. The Clips would need to go 26-1.

My guess is that the Clips will mini-tank and try to get 4th or 5th.

I hear you. Tatum is actually 1 of my favorite players in the NBA.

He's blossoming into a scary player

And we didn't even work him out.

I got called dumb for saying we should draft him and team him up with Brandon Ingram

That combination would have been scary AF

Is this the healthy BI alternate reality?
Then I'm in board I guess

Doc Rivers is a Celtic Clipper, so when his team loses, itโ€™s a double win.

$15 million for a one dimensional role player. Gross.

Last year at the Celtics he started the year averaging over 40% from 3, then after January slowly declined to about 37%. I warned people that very well could happen again but his 5/16 from 3 at the Clippers shows that he's going to be a reliable 40% 3 point shooter all year this year

I get that, but big shot rob is a legend

Basically if we finally take them at least once in the remaining head to heads it's OVAH!

Btw any word on the Kobe postponed game?

We have a very tough schedule till 20 March and then it goes easier. I guess in the next 10-15 games we will know but i think we have almost
secured the advantage.

Yeah, we have the 8th easiest schedule, while the cLips have the 7th easiest.

I mean if theyโ€™re pressing for the #1 spot, (bleep) it...let em have it. They down 6 games on us in the loss column and if they really want to bust their ass to grab it, so be it. We would still likely be in the 2-3 bracket and face the cLips in the WCF where we wonโ€™t be traveling and LA will make our road games, more like home games anyway.

Plus we 4 down on the Bucks and although they got the 5th toughest remaining schedule, if they hold onto the overall #1 spot we wouldnโ€™t have home court on em in the Finals. Meanwhile, we likely have home court against Boston, Toronto, Miami or Philly in the Finals without having to push too hard after the break.

On a side note, Memphis has the toughest remaining schedule and the Pels or Portland can still sneak in. I donโ€™t know about yโ€™all but Iโ€™d rather face Okc, Dallas or Htown in the 1st round vs them younger running teams or Dame.

Lakers has the advantage of resting AD and Bron before the playoffs. In their last 14 games of the season, 11 of those are against non top 8 teams.

These are their tough games, IMO.

PHI
@OKC
@HOU
LAKERS
DAL
@DEN
IND
OKC
@UTAH
@POR
@LAKERS

Say they go 6-5 in those and 14-2 in the gimmes (4 game roadie will likely lead to a loss) - that's 20-7 in their remaining games (.741), which is higher than their current .673 pace and puts them at 57-25.

If the Lakers go 17-12 (.586), that's MUCH lower than their current .774 pace and they'd finish at 58-24.

Contributing factors:

    Paul George's injuries - injured his hammie for the 3rd time - hom much (more) time will he miss?

    Kawhi's load management - if he sticks to last year's pace, he'll miss at least 8 more games.

    PatBev's groin injury - those can linger and Clips are 30-10 with him, 7-8 without him.

Lakers have some concerns, but also have some intriguing factors:

    More minutes for Caruso

    More minutes for DH39

    LBJ and AD averaging career-low and near career-low minutes, respectively.

For me, the Lakers' best path is to win the #1 seed and let teams fight to get to them. Let the Clippers crawl their way through the gauntlet.

You guys have it all wrong. The goal of the Lakers and Clippers is to beat out every other team. They don't give a damn about who's #1 and who's #2 because that's a home game for either team, and the Lakers fans will be the majority in the arena regardless.

We should be looking at Denver, Houston, Utah schedules.

Danilo Gallinari - 19/6/2, 40% 3-pt
Shai Gilgeous Alexander - 19/6/3

#1 in 2021 (Miami's unprotected)
#1 in 2022
#1 in 2024
#1 in 2026

Plus right to swap #1s in 2023 and 2025.

I love it.
And then Kawhi leaves in his option year cuz he realizes PG can't be counted on.

Same, first time in my life I was fully going for the Celtics. They don't really have anyone I strongly dislike and are a fun team to watch so anytime they're playing the Clippers (in the regular season at least) i'm going to be rooting for them.

Another overtime for Kawhi where he clearly fell off a cliff after playing more minutes then he's used to. He was getting abused on defense several times on huge plays and looked gassed and ineffective offensively late. Just one game but he just simply does not look nowhere near what he did even last year around this time. Now with George out probably at least a little while even after the all star break it will get interesting to see how they handle things.

Before the season started and even more so now I don't get how anyone can truthfully say George and Kawhi is the better duo then AD and Lebron. Better overall team is still up for debate since they have better depth after the top 2 but even when healthy they just don't look great together consistently at all imo.

Yep. It's clear to anyone who watched Kawhi play these past two years that he's not the same guy

It's hilarious when people disagree with you guys on this.
He doesn't look right. But he still turns it on on offensive plays, maybe it's less noticeable.
