If Lakers still has the top spot after this scheduke and with a good margin to the 2nd spot, maybe they start considering resting Bron and AD. The remaining games after this are mostly from bottom dwellers (11 out of 14 games remaining vs non playoffs team).

18 wins is the minimum for the remaining schedule, with 20 we are first
for sure.

70-12 wouldn't be bad at all . . . as long as we win our final playoff game.

Thank against Memphis so they make the playoffs.

The nice thing though is after that stretch we could very well have the easiest schedule in the NBA outside of the game against Toronto. As a Lakers fan I absolutely love how our second half schedule is setup. So much opportunity for some good rest that last month going into the Playoffs.

3/30 at MIN

Yeah, was looking at that earlier. I circled everything from MEM in the first game back all the way to the at Utah road game (scratched out Dubbs/Nets) as our toughest overall streak of the season. I don't consider the vs UTA home game a tough win, it's much easier to beat them at Staples than at Vivint.smarthome.Energy.whatever.ARENA. Not only that but said stretch opens up into a 6 game Eastern trip. All but the Raps are pushovers on that trip, but it's a lot of travel. They arrive back home to play Indiana on 4/1, which is a potential April fool's trap game that's flashing like a neon sign from this far away. The trip is CHAR, DET, TOR, CLEV, D.C., MIN. The route is linear only for the first three games, then they're back tracking to and fro. Sh schedule. Gonna be a test because they're gonna want to conserve energy and toy with everyone but the Raps.

And I think that lost vs LAC game will be pushed to April 10th if everything works out. The only date I noticed that prevents 3 gms in a row for either team. When a game was postponed after the Northridge quake in 94, they gave us 3 straight games and every team played at least a couple 3-in-3s in the 50 gm season. Then again, I thought this would've been already rescheduled a week ago. Lotta logistic headaches from the looks of it. Or maybe the league just wants to wait to announce after the memorial out of respect.

April is easy enough that they have no excuses for not being able to put at least a few of those games away in the 3rd so they can rest Brawn/AD in the 4th. Maybe even give AD or Brawn a random night off. Stagger em.

Btw, remembered something from a bballref perusing. Who remembers Pat LMing Magic, Worthy and Scott in the final game of the 1990 season at PORT? We lost by 42. Lotta snarking and "how dare he?!" sentiments from what I recall. No one liked the look of that even though they won 63 and the game had no impact on the seedings. Went against Pat's normal hard work creedo. Interestingly enough, they started to fizzle right after that. They got by HOU, but were a disaster against PHX. Lost in 5 to the same team the same Lakers team swept the year before. When PHX eliminated UTAH in the 4/5 split, most Lakerfan were happy until stuff turned bad. Bad mojo, maybe.

Lol man that is a bit rough, but i think that likely applies to most of those other top 8 teams too

My guess is lakers go 20-9 or 19-10. Either way it will be enough for top seed - if lakers do that i dont see denver or clippers winning 23-24 of their next 27-28 games to pass the Lakers.

Clippers dont care as long as lakers 1 seed...they will be happy with #2 seed

I think alot of how these games go will be on whether vogel utilizes his best guys the right way, eg playing caruso more and letting dwight go old school chew up little guys in the paint when match ups warrant.

That Sixers-Bucks-Clips stretch is like playing the NCAA Elite Eight/ Final 4/ Title Game all in one freaking week. Brutal.

March 3, 6, and 8 for those games. No B2Bs. If anyone says that the team is NOT circling that one in bright red permanent Sharpie markers on their dry-erase board in the locker room, they're wrong.

If we sweep that run, then we rebuild our early-season aura and the whole league will be wondering how to deal with us. If we lose to the Clips or the Bucks, the media will crow all the way into the playoffs. If we lose to the Sixers, then they'll be seen as a more legit threat to the Bucks out East.

PHI are really bad when they play away. They are 9-19 away. MIL and Clippers will be tough though.

They need to beat the Bucks and Clippers. They probably also need to win one or both of Celtics and Sixers to show that they can overcome these long, athletic wing type teams.

Houston maybe to show that small, small ball doesn’t beat them and that it was just one game aberration where Russ was making shots he doesn’t usually make and just one of those hot shooting nights for Houston that won’t happen again with more attention to detail and focus on defense.

Mar 3-18 will be an acid test for this team. If we beat both the Clippers and Bucks, that will be our statement that we're ready to win the world championship this season.

yes a lot of these will be home games.

People keep talking about the Lakers not able to beat the top teams. But at the same time they played the Bucks 76ers and Celtics on the road and long road trips.

There will be no excuse to not be these teams at home.

9-5 and to a lesser extent, 8-6, wouldn't be bad at all actually. This means we beat some of the best teams in the league. The last 14 games of the season after this is actually not that bad at all. Could see ourselves going 11-3 in the last 14 games.

Going 9-5 and then 11-3 will net us at 61-20 for the season. This could be enough to get us 1st place in the West.

They are going to make up that game against the Clippers. They will play 82 games. Has anybody heard if they announced a makeup date yet for that game?

On a smooth, non-porous surface like that, what you wanna do is cover the permanent red circle with a thick coat of dry erase marker, let it dry, and then wipe it off with a paper towel. Usually works. I've erased Sharpie mistakes on smooth DVDs before. So don't you worry, MIM.
