Shoot. I thought he could be our wild card big if he came back in the playoffs. _________________ We only celebrate championships.

Wow did not expect that. Daniels needs to step up and hit some big time shots in the playoffs, unless they are cutting Daniels for someone else... |

I think there is one more move on the horizon and TD gets cut as well. Boogie can hang around the team still but prob isn't as ready as we all hoped _________________ "Friends can come and go, but banners hang forever" -KOBE |

Didn’t Vogel just say last weekend that Boogie would be ready for the playoffs?
He was just on the Matt Barnes podcast talking about mentoring Kuzma too. _________________

We all expected Daniels to be cut. Boogie made the most sense since he was injured and we are set at the Center position. Especially since AD can easily slide to the Center position if we need him to.
I thought Boogie would be the 2nd player cut if we signed 2 players.
I feel bad for Boogie. I wish there was no bad blood and he would come back next year. We will see I guess. |

I am good with the decision because Cousins is not ready to roll this season. He simply is not ready. After the rash of injuries, he has to take his time coming back. Get that achilles, quad and knee all perfect. Taking a year off is smart and he will have that now that he is free to continue to focus on recovery.
It doesn't mean that he won't be back this off season.
As much as some were talking like he would come back, I just knew he wasn't going to be ready. Not worth the health risk for a 30% of himself.....
Get right, Boogie, we will see you soon. |

Was rooting for the resurgence. Hate to see it for my guy. |
It will have to wait until next season. Hopefully, there is no bad blood (I do not think there would be) and he signs with us next season. |

I feel pretty confident there was no bad blood and that things were discussed prior to even the trade deadline time frame. I don't see the Lakers doing anything but being classy to a guy that has been there since training camp and supporting his team. |

Welp. I think you have to wait a full year before re signing a player you waive or trade
Guess he won’t be back next year. Hope AD signed off on this |

Would've kept him for the 1% chance he could be a playoff wildcard over Troy Daniels. |

Not true. We can sign Cousins whenever we want.
You cant trade a player, who then gets waived, and then re-sign him. |

realistically there was jst no way he was going to recover from an ACL tear in 8 months or so, especially coming off his previous injuries
ACL tears are usually a 10-12 month thing for NBA players IIRC _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way |

Ok good. He was never going to play this year anyway
I’d expect to see him back on the mini for next season |

Yes, exactly. Plus the quad and achilles injuries, the lack of conditioning and rehab on those, though they were "healed" to a degree, probably set him back even more. You have to work on a achilles tear for a couple of years, I heard before it even feels better.
In other words, you are totally right, he wasn't coming back... |

Like...you're not even playing Troy Daniels. We have FIVE other guys who play his position. Even if Cousins wasn't anything this year, you have the ability to sign him cheaply next year and maybe get 75% of what he used to be (still good).
But alright. |

I hope he continues to rehab and hang around the Lakers. Not sure if he can be on the bench, but at least the practice facilities. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan |

I don't think he was gonna do that anyway.
I hope they are doing this with an understanding that he can continue to rehab and train in El Segundo (if allowed), and that they have first dibs on him this summer. |
