Per league rules, he can continue his rehab with the Lakers, at their practice facility, but he can’t fly on the team plane or sit on the bench once he’s waived. But the Lakers could re-sign him this summer, something both sides have expressed interest in pursuing, sources said. – via Joe Vardon @ The Athletic

Much respect for Boogie. If he gets himself healthy he could be an impact player for the Lakers next season. _________________ Not a legend |

Boogie pulled a Luke Walton when he told Phil to start Ariza ahead of him.
Now, need Rondo to do that with Caruso. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I heard that Boogie was great at heckling and talking smack to opposing players from the sidelines this year. He was always trying to get in their heads and call them out. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan |

Unfortunately he can’t sit on the bench for us anymore and can’t travel with the team. He can hang out in the locker room tho, get treatment and practice/rehab at UCLA Health in El Segundo.
I really hope he gets to come back and show his worth for us, but there are folks in the shadows with other plans...
Quote: | For Heat fans wondering about DeMarcus Cousins, who was released by the Lakers this week to make room for Markieff Morris, keep in mind that even though the Heat likes Cousins and pursued him last summer, there’s no indication he’s looking to leave Southern California. Cousins, who hasn’t played this season because of a torn ACL in his left knee sustained last August, continued rehabbing with the Lakers at their facility on Tuesday, and there’s nothing to preclude the Lakers from signing him before the playoffs if he’s healthy. – via Miami Herald

Right, I should have mentioned that this will be missed.
On the LA note, everyone should watch the All That Smoke Podcast. Boogie really seems to be enamored with living in LA. He loves it here and loves his teammates. If he loved Sacramento, one can only imagine that he would want to stay in LA if it was his choice. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan |

Not being able to sit on the bench makes sense. Why would there be a rule about flying on the plane? |

It's really impossible to say.
First of course we can only guess when the postseason might be postponed till.
Second for an injury like he is, the normal return would be sometime in June. There's no guarantee he will be back by June though. And there's a difference between being back and being ready to play NBA games. |

I’m not confident that he will he worth signing in October, let alone April. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

It's a big assumption that Cousins will be serviceable by October given his injuries and weight, but for a moment let's assume that he is. Then we should try to retain one of Javale or Howard at an economical contract, Cousins is unlikely to provide more than 20 minutes for a while and doesn't have the kind of shot-blocking mobility that Javale/Howard have. |

I don’t think that is definite at all. Over 2 seasons missed, 3 leg injuries, the deck is stacked against him. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
