I love how many solid defenders this team has at the guard position. KCP/Bradley/Green/Caruso. They all fight through screens, and play good team D as well as individual.
What we saw in yesterday's game is that this is valuable, and I argue even more so over a 7 game series.
Take the two teams, Lakers and Clippers. We can have those 4 players guarding their best perimeter players for large stretches of the game.
Now look at the Clippers, their two best perimeter defenders are George and Kawhi. Beverley is good too, but he cannot guard Lebron for long stretches. The only ones who can are the ones who have to do the heavy lifting offensively, or Harrell. Harrell is their center. He has to guard AD or Lebron, but he can't do both.
This team is a joy to watch when they are clicking defensively. Which seems to happen against the better teams, which makes me think we have to expect more of this type of play in the playoffs.

Not to mention Kuz when he is focused and engaged is very solid on perimeter players. Then you have Dion who proved just a month ago he's capable of guarding Lou in case we get in foul trouble.
I see a lot of people still saying the Clippers have a huge advantage from 3-10 and I strongly disagree at this point in the season when you consider both sides of the ball that gap is getting smaller if not at a wash now.
The Lakers just look so much more cohesive and like a "team" versus the Clippers who are very iso heavy which makes it tougher for those 3-10 guys to get much easy baskets or get into any kind of real rhythm.
This team just has a different feel, kind of like one of those 80โs championship teams. Just that feeling where you know itโs a complete team top to bottom. We have everything.
a classic team thatโs definitely going to be on 2k in 20 Years and our kids will be saying โ woah what a stacked team that was, Lebron and AD along with a solid cast of former whoโs whoโs Dwight, Rondo, Bradley, Green, Mcgee, KCPโ
itโs going to look even more stacked if Kuzma and Caruso Hit their full potential.
This team was on track to win it all. I believe they would have. _________________ โChrist did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there."

I think there are fans of three or four teams that could justifiably feel that way.
I was happy with how we were developing. But I wouldn't say we were slicing through the league in a way that the ring was ours to lose. We were certainly one of the top contenders.
I miss them so much. I thought watching basketball would be painful all season after Kobe and Gigi's deaths, but it actually hurts more without being able to watch this Lakers team.
I don't care if they have the Finals in November and have to shorten next season - please, Mr. Silver, let the 2019-2020 playoffs happen. _________________ Under New Management

I do care, why destroy two seasons when you could theoretically have one have one broken season and one normal season? Call this one off and gear up for 2020-2021. This season is done. This board is a perfect example, very little Laker talk. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
