Yes and if that is in fact the case, then they might have to fire Pelinka.

The season is not getting cancelled. There’s too much $ involved to cancel the playoffs. There will be playoffs even if this is pushed into next year.

That would be nothing but a money grab and the results would be meaningless

The league may stop paying players after April and is heavily increasing it's debt limits. They will likely be trying to grab all the $$ they can.

Here's the question.... If you knew in the summer of 19, that this season would be canceled and there would be no champions crowned. Do you still do the trade? AD would be a free agent this summer.

We did the trade to maximize Lebron's prime and go for a title in '20. Pelicans got lucky ASF. I don't think you do this deal if you had a crystal ball. We are biggest losers in this Corona virus thing. In summer of 20, AD would have taken a look at us and see... Bron, Ingram, Lonzo, Kuz, etc, and would joined anyways.

Would we have had the capspace to do that?

Why wouldn't we? We've been the lord of capspace. There wasn't any talk about how there was NO WAY to sign AD in '20. That was always an option. Trading for him is "bird in one hand" type of thing and going for it now! Well Now just got cancelled.

I think the chances of the NBA cancelling this season are pretty low, regardless of how long the quarantine is going to last. They'd rather shorten the next season, but you can bet that there will be playoffs in some form or another, even if they have to start them in the late fall/early winter.

So basically a preseason tournament? Again, why? It would have nothing to do with the 2019-2020 season. Once July rolls around that season is done.

Silver even offered to just have players who want to play.. sounded like no team affiliation.. just corona free and wants to play... they would play televised games for entertainment.. sounded like just trying to earn money and give the players an outlet etc

That was option 3

Season wash.

Playoffs reduced to two teams. One Game. No Fans.

Lakers vs Bucks. Basketball SuperBowl. Let’s do it

If the rest of the season and playoffs is just cancelled. VLF and Dreamshake should say "told ya Lakers wouldn't win a chip this year" in their sigs. Just cause it would be funny.

It's rather depressing. Even if this season resumes, which gets more and more unlikely each day, this team could be unrecognizable. So much goes into being in game shape.
Plus, the road to the championship will be much more difficult next year. Several great players/teams were absent this season due to injury.
This was only Lebron's 3rd time being on a favored team, and this sh** happens.
