Yes, think Rodney King.

Thank you.

Another question...
He can make bail on this charge I am assuming.

Can the Feds quickly, as soon as he makes bail, arrest him again on any charge and then increase charges once they have more to go on?

I am pretty curious to know what threat a handcuffed man who had already fallen down twice and was already on the ground was going to cause?

He killed him on purpose OR is too stupid to realize the body growing lifeless under his knee was actually "dying"?

I have a hundred bucks that says they will say he fell down twice because he was having issues and they simply didn't know because he just kept complaining about the knee on his neck.

Also think that Bob Barr wasn't the AG at that time

It’s time for us to take a hard look at uncomfortable truths.

It’s time for us to face the deep, open wound we have in this nation.

We need justice for George Floyd.

They will say he was drunk or high, you know how "those people" are, always using.
And he had hypertension and heart disease from a poor lifestyle, you know how "those people" are, always eating fried food and crap.
And we would never of had to restrain him if he had not resisted arrest, you know how "those people" are, never following police commands.
Caused his own death basically. He could have survived being restrained with a knee on his neck for 9 minutes if he had just made better choices in his life.
But who cares, just another one of "those people".

Insert Black or Latino or Native American or whatever for "those people" depending what death you need to excuse.

They already have the shop owner who called them saying that exact thing.

1st and 2nd degree murder has now entered the chat.

The cop worked with him?

This changes everything.

I have zero faith in the Justice system.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Chauvin gets a reduced sentence or gets acquitted something similar to George Zimmerman.

I know racism exists in America. I've not seen it so blatantly displayed as it's been since the election of Trump. Is he the reason for the rise of blatant racism? I can't qualify a yes or no I can only opinion, YES

A black Latino CNN reporter was arrested. A white CNN reporter was not.

Quote:
Campbell said he was "treated much differently." Here's what he told Berman:

"I was treated much differently than [CNN correspondent Omar Jimenez] was. I'm sitting here talking to the National Guard, talking to the police. They're asking politely to move here and there. A couple times I've moved closer than they would like. They asked politely to move back. They didn't pull out the handcuffs. Lot different here than what Omar experienced."

Someone once said, I believe Winston Churchill, America has a lousy judicial system but it's the best in the world.

A Churchill quote;

“Dictators ride to and fro on tigers from which they dare not dismount. And the tigers are getting hungry.

If I am not mistaken, Mr. Floyd was 6-7.

As a big guy myself (6-5) I know how this can cause overreactions by "authority figures" and I say that as a white guy.

What went on here is criminal by the perps (the police) but I also think using it as an excuse to loot and/or attack officers in other cities is a gross overreaction and doesn't further the cause.

Not necessarily (and I don't say that in anyway as an attempt to defend Chauvin):

(from the link:) "I wouldn't characterize them as knowing each other," Santamaria told CNN's Josh Campbell in an interview. "We did all work together at the club at different points of time, certainly on Tuesday nights on and off. We were all working on the same team."

As I said earlier (and I realize we don't know what may have been said between te two during te confrontation) I don't think Chauvin appears to recognize Floyd as an acquaintance or former co-worker.

But it is certainly an off coincidence worthy of further investigation.

He's not his actual brother. He said he was a friend who he viewed as a "twin".

I think they were neighborhood friends in Houston growing up but not actual brothers. I could be wrong, but I thought I read that.

The important words are the bolded ones.

It's pretty clear that the law enforcement and prosecutorial powers that be in Minneapolis and Minnesota are all in on making sure that Chauvin and his fellow vermin will not be held accountable for their actions if they can anything about it.

I have a feeling if Chauvin gets off Minneapolis will experience riots not seen since the 1992 Los Angeles uprising. Public and country wide pressure calls for the courts to be fair for fear of violence.

Just saw on the news a officer in downtown Los Angeles trying to arrest someone have people pulling him off of the person he was attempting to arrest.

Close friend I believe. Jackson said as teens (?) when they first met, people thought they looked alike and they said to each other 'so who's your dad...?" And became good friends.

This is another weird wrinkle if true:

Former president Barack Obama on Friday called on Americans to work together to create a “new normal” in the wake of Floyd’s death, saying that disparate treatment based on race has become “maddeningly” normal. Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and former VP, tweeted a simple message: “Enough.” He had speech on Minnesota events planned for later in the day.

Minneapolis City Council Vice President Andrea Jenkins said Floyd and Chauvin knew each other for many years because they worked security at the same night club. Both men worked at El Nuevo Rodeo on Lake Street before their fatal encounter.

President Trump called the protesters “THUGS,” while suggesting military intervention and warning in a tweet that there could be additional violence if the chaos continued. “When the looting starts, the shooting starts,” the president wrote. Trump’s tweet was later flagged by Twitter for “glorifying violence.”

A CNN crew was arrested early Friday while reporting on the protests in Minnesota. CNN said in a statement that the three journalists were arrested “for doing their jobs, despite identifying themselves.” Correspondent Omar Jimenez was released from custody and back on the air a short time later, and Walz expressed regret.

The unrest spread from Phoenix to Columbus, as people converged in city centers and descended on state capitol buildings. Gunfire broke out in multiple cities, including Louisville, where authorities say seven people were injured during a protest of the fatal police shooting of Breonna Taylor. Shots were also fired at the Colorado statehouse.

Maybe it isn’t as random as originally thought

I have a feelin Chauvin didn't even recognize him. Just saw another black perp. ready for another beating.

Yes, I saw an interview with the club owner (it burned to the ground) and she didn’t think that they knew each other. She said that Floyd was a sweetheart and that she has to reign in Chauvin at times for overreacting. She said he was quick to pull out pepper spray and just spray everyone. With his background I think that there will be a conviction.
