Portland has a tough couple games coming up. The Grizzlies need to get these next 2 games for sure to have some sense of peace with that 8th spot. Of the 3-7 teams I don’t think any of them want to see the Thunder in that first round

Houston and Harden's 25 free throws a game is scary. I'd like them to sit in the 6th spot, so they can be the Clippers problem.

If Portland makes it, the 5 through 8 teams are arguably worse to face than the 3rd and 4th teams.

He never gets those FTs in the playoffs.

Denver might even drop to the sixth o fifith place. In that case I hope that Houston reaches the third seed.

Utah and Denver are the weakest teams right now.

I think we play Rockets during the seeding games. We need that game. Have to keep the Rockets at 6th.

Teams I'd love to avoid.. Blazers Rockets, and Clippers.

We're seeing the Clippers but IMO both Portland and Houston with the speed and guard player can make it a linger series than ideal.

The Pelicans have been a disappointment. I know it's just the eighth seed, but it would have meant a lot to the young players and to the fans. I don't understand why they keep treating Zion like he is made of porcelain. If he's really that fragile, he's a likely bust. The Clippers loss is one thing, but they blew an 8-point lead to the Jazz. If I was one of the Pelicans, and I put up with all of the bubble BS just to discover that my team isn't playing to win, I'd be pissed.

I know what you mean and I also prefer to not face the Rockets and the Blazers but let's be honest, if we aren't able to win against them then we don't deserve the chip.

The Rockets have no answer for AD. With Nurkic and Collins back Portland can pack the paint against him.

Green/KCP has to be the worst starting backcourt in modern NBA history, gonna be a dog fight no matter what the opponent is.

I am really not sure why people keep saying Memphis will make it. I think these people have no idea on how this new format works.

Portland just needs to be with in 4 games after the end of these 8 seeding games to qualify for play in against the no 8 seed Memphis.

I absolutely don't see Memphis making the playoffs.

thinking of lakers vs memphis is just wishful thinking. Just like thinking of winning a chip with so many useless players with medicore free thorow and 3 point %.

It’s pretty much guaranteed Portland will be within 4 games.

Memphis will have their chance to hold on, but doesn’t look like they have enough to beat the Blazers in a 1 or 2 game play in tbh.

Which is likely hy the NBA went for this format. It wasn't for the East.

It was for a "better" team to be able to get withing the 4 game cutoff so they could push Memphis out of the spot. I think they thought it might be the Pels but the Blazers is also a much more enticing (and marketable) first rd series then the Grizz.

Also curious. What if more then one team is within the 4 game line? Or 2 or more times tied for 9th seed with the same record? They do not plan on multiple "play-in series", right?

There will be a multiple play-in series in that scenario.

Looks like Memphis is going to lose again. I’m sure Pop wants to stick it to the Lakers, help Dame and the Blazers out.

OKay Debbie Downer. You do not have the spirit of Roger Federer, more like Nick Kyrgios. Lakers didn't win 50 games this year by playing like they did last game. But it's funny how the last game is always the game people will base the future on. LOL!

BTW, Spurs are only 2 behind in the loss column, while Portland is 4 behind now. So if things hold, it's the Spurs that most likely will get to play Memphis.

Thanks for clarifying. Wild ending is coming. All fighting to earn a first round with the Lakers. All dialed in and pressure tested just to get to the Lakers.

Just one game against the Raptors, but the Lakers need to take this just a bit more seriously the final six games. They are not playing well as team right now. And not a lot of time to correct it.

are you sure?

just because teams are tied on wins doesn't mean all will be 8th or 9th seed.
