vogel needs to make a concerted effort to involve DG more. his 3pt attempts have progressively gone down, which is not a good trend heading into the stretch run. the raptors did a good job of getting him open looks in the corners, but it doesn't seem like our coaching staff knows how to best utilize him. when he's on, we're hard to beat.

He averages 4.9 3-points attempts per game for the season. You can have a spike or drop in any particularly game, but overall he seems pretty consistent and I don't see any progressive downturn in attempts.

Personally, I think some people had outsized expectations for him. He's a guy who's going to hit a couple of three-pointers and give you 8 or so points a game. That's who he is.

His 2 year, 15m/year deal was b/c he basically agreed to hang out and be the Lakers fall back after Kawhi. Reportedly Mavs were after him too but no salary amounts were disclosed.

Mavs offered 3yr/36m.

You know what’s wild about our summer...we supposedly constructed the perfect team around Bron with all the shooting. We also hired Vogs and his coaching staff to see it through. Yet Cook and Trey got next to no run and we are 23rd in the league in 3pt attempt frequency and 25th in the league in 3pt shots making up our total points scored per game. How in the actual (bleep)???

https://on.nba.com/2zwgmaZ

all of our shooters are below their career averages except KCP. kuzma is shooting 29% at 4.5 attempts per game, rondo at 32%, markeef has yet to find his shot and cook doesn't play. we really aren't a great shooting team.

I think Danny Green has made as many jump shots in March-April, as He did November through February.

He averaged 6.9 ppg in the playoffs last year and has a career high of 11.7 ppg in the regular season and 11.1 in the playoffs. Why is he worth 15 million a year again?

Because James and Klutch said so...

His is not the defender he used to be but not as bad as some keep commenting on. One sequence late in the 1st quarter when they were making a run stood out to me as showing his versatility.

He was on Lowry and pressured him from half court to giving it up. Then next time down was on Siakam and shut him down as he was getting backed down into the paint.

Tonight was a great example of where they will miss Bradley. Some consistent pressure on Lowry would have been nice.

I remember when Luke volunteered to go to the bench in favor of Ariza. Time for Danny to do the same for Kuz. It's time.

Danny is the kind of player who can change a game if he makes 2 shots in a row. Problem is that he only ever makes 1 shot every 10 games or so

He's useful as a decoy out on the corners since people still respect his reputation, but he's definitely not a game changing shooter like we hoped he'd be

Toronto knows his game inside out from his time there and coaches defense against him perfectly. Now why he can't hit a wide open 3 is a whole nother story.

Danny Green is a great teammate and professional, a champion, a great shooter, and an above average defender. That being said, the salary we are paying him is ridiculous. If we fail to win it all this year, we should really thinking about sending his salary to a team that needs to dump some salary in exchange for a better player maybe with an extra year or two in their contracts. Dinwiddie in Brooklyn comes to mind.

I remember when Kawhi decided to go to the Clippers and I heard about us getting Danny Green I was excited because I saw him as a guy who will bring Impact on both sides of the ball. but man oh man has he been disappointing, I really hope he is saving his best for the playoffs.

He needs to keep shooting - chuck away until the playoffs start, Vogel has to try and build his confidence back up we will need him.

I said it before when everyone insisted we needed him more than any other FA. You guys weren’t paying attention to the playoffs last year. 6 ppg 32% shooting from 3’s in the finals when it counts. He’s been washed up for the last couple of years and just because the Mavs were offering him $ we had to step in. He’s worthless now, defense subpar but the worst is that when we need him to hit an open 3 he disappoints constantly. The number 1 priority in the off season is to trade him...but I know that will be close to impossible.

Yeah, Danny should have taken that personally. His former team was purposely leaving him open. It’s like they knew he’s brick city.

Not really, just because he isn’t terrible doesn’t mean he played decently. He played terrible defense and apparently does not known how to close out on a jump shooter. Constantly trying to get blocks on 3pt attempts and goes for way too many pump fakes leaving to a wide open shot or a drive

I’m getting devean George vibes with his atrocious close out on Tim Thomas in game 6 2006 that ultimately led to the lakers blowing the game and the series

Totally agree. He needs to get it together and quick, dude looks like he wasn’t working out at all during the NBA shutdown.

A much better game then the 1 he had against the Raptors, hopefully the 3pt shot starts to fall soon.
