Vogel is really a good coach. With him, Lakers have established a good defensive system, every player is playing with their comfortably and young players have developed themselves well.

Loved his comment "great defense is like a 3rd superstar"

You look at the Bulls. They never had a third star. Their third best player was never a multiple all star. Not a super team. Two stars, but the D. That was just something special. You factor MJ, a second elite star, elite D. That's just as potent as a super team.

We have the 2 stars and our D has been there all year (mostly). We have shown we will adjust to the team we are playing. So smaller team like Houston, we went with AD at the 5. Bigger team like Portland, we went with 2 Centers.

Said it all along. Our only hope to win a ring this year is if the defense lives up to its potential. On O we have some weaknesses (3 ball, PG). Our D can be all time great. I've never seen a Laker team play D like this, when this team
is fully engaged.

Vogel seems to always be cool calm and chill during huddles. He ain’t like Rivers or D’Antoni that likes to raise their voices and yell.

How the hell did we “back into” Frank Vogel? He was seriously our third choice. The Lakers hard stanced him into a 3 year deal and Kidd on the bench breathing down his neck. He agreed to ridiculous terms, swallowed his pride, and was grateful for the opportunity. Some highlights for the man that GT/LFR called, “The right kind of boring for this team.”

Manage Huge Egos (Bron, AD, Rondo, Dwight, Javale, Green, Dion)
Got players to become a “star in their role”
Mostly limiting Lebron and AD minutes
China, Kobe, COVID, BLM, Bubble Leadership
Kuzma and Caruso’s growth as elite defenders
Calm on national TV after a 42 pt Rockets 3rd Quarter, already down 1 game
Has the stones to play THT in playoff games (and paying off)

He didn't have a good experience in Orlando and Lue was LeBron's old coach.

After the torture that was Luke Walton, it's nice to have a proper coach again

I mean both say defense matters.
One of them actually got our team to play defense.
I guess having AD helps with that. But still hehe

Love Uncle Frank, he will raise his voice and yell perhaps with a younger team but this is a veteran unit full of stone cold killers. No need to raise your voice, LeBron is policing things just fine.

Imagine what Frank could have done with Ju, Russell, Clarkson, BI, Nance, Ball, Hart, Black, Blue, Bonga, Wagner, Svi, Bryant, AB, Upshaw, Nwaba, Jemerrio Jones, Zach Augustine, Matt Thomas, THT, Antetokounmpo, Cacok and Caruso... All on one team!!! 😝

Thanks Byron and Luke...

You could marinate it overnight in citric acid w/ orange/lemon juice in it and hope that it sinks in deep. Or use one of those air extractors to suck it into the meat. The acid will alter and/or reduce the funk of the flesh by almost cooking it (think ceviche). Then yer gonna want another complimentary sauce to use AFTER it's cooked in more sauces. But you wanna marinate it hardcore with acid first. Make sure you've removed all the sand/pebbles from the gizzard.

I never understood why Vogel got a bad rap just for doing bad with Orlando. Not even Pop or Phil would've put that roster anywhere near the playoffs.

He brought Indiana twice to the ECF and almost won both times. He had a roster where Paul George was his #1 and Roy Hibbert was his #2. If that isn't an accomplishment, then idk what is.

For me not just saying but making actually our defense good is what makes his successful. Many coaches are just saying phrases and praying to God something will happen on the field. Luke was one of them. But deep down he was clueless.
Vogel on the other hand is someone who is actually working hard behind closed doors and trying to improve the team by implementing his ides. Sometimes bad sometimes good.
Also playing THT in playoff game even in garbage time is telling you that he can recognize potential and confidence in someone. I just hope Lakers will believe him enough when things starts to go down in one moment. Maybe two three years from now but it will come. It will be a time to show belief in him.

NBA fans are always looking for the next Brad Stevens. Young, creative, decent coach, looks the part (take that how you will), etc. Walton was able to fool two front offices with that Brad Stevens cologne. Sorry if I sound bitter about Walton. I’d be okay if he was just a terrible coach who was all talk, but he destroyed our young core. Plus he refused to surround himself with any smart people on the bench. The only good thing he ever did was Point Ingram, which doesn’t help us one bit.

Coming from Brown, Pringles, Byron, and Luke, it’s exciting to finally have a coach who is smart, creative, a REAL defensive guru, humble, makes in game adjustments, can draw up offensive plays, real motion basketball (finally), player friendly, team manager. And with our old ass team, we are second in the league in transition points. I thought that was a young man’s game. We are truly showtime.

The dude managed to make Roy Hibbert look like a good NBA player. It's obvious he can coach. He never should've gone to Orlando, coaching a terrible team can be a career killer. Lucky for both him and us we gave him another shot.

Our first choice did a great job in Phoenix and our second choice will likely go against us in the WCF. I like Vogel and was all for hiring him but there were other options.

Other options don't equal better options.. even if they were the first options.

Luke fooled people into thinking he was an elite coach by going 43-4 with the Warriors roster as acting Head Coach. Then Mike Brown became his replacement as Associate Head Coach and led them to the WCF, showing that any coach can win with a roster that good.

Next round will be a good test for him. D'Antoni is a historical lightweight when it comes to adjustments. Stotts is better but he was railroaded by a team loaded with non-defenders.

I think Vogel's greatness as a coach is highlighted more now after the Clippers series. Vogel took a team that was led by Pandemic P with their second and third best players as Roy Hibbert and Lance make them dance Stephenson all the way to the ECF twice and was one win away from making the Finals. That's pretty incredible.
