Yup, I think MDA’s style is the only one Harden will be flourishing in, stat-wise that is.

No other coach has really embraced that style, so they're gonna have trouble finding someone that'll want to continue coaching microball.

At the same time, Houston mortgaged their future to sign RW - and they're going to have a hard time unraveling that enough to build a conventional team.
After this playoffs, RW's 41.5m contract next year might be unmovable - which will make things even harder

I guess MDA's decision could be called smart if he would be stuck with Harden and Westbrook the next eternity in Houston...

I felt on the soul level that one way or another he’d not be back on the Rockets bench.

Yep, his style just doesn’t work, he’s tried to adapt it on every roster he’s had and it still doesn’t produce results in the playoffs, good move for both parties to move on.

Good for both sides. Houston needs to re-tool and a new voice/system. MDA has taken that team as far as he could.

However, that all offense small/micro ball just won't work come playoffs. Never has and apparently never will. Then again, James Harden isn't a championship #1 either.

And yeah... that was an I quit before you can fire me.

D'Antoni will never win a ship. He's stuck on a system that won't win one. Mike's a one trick pony. He'll have a good season record but won't win a Larry O'Brien with his system.

He did well in Pheonix because he had players that fit his system. He takes his system wherever he goes. If he doesn't have the right players he still tries to make the system work instead of using another system. I don't think he has another one.

I don't know where he'll land. Wherever he goes I'll bet the condo they won't win a championship.

Harden almost won the MVP with McHale coaching and got to the conf finals.

It won’t matter who the new coach is if the owner refuses to spend $$ and keeps giving away assets to avoid paying lux tax.

I've been reading the owner said it was up to D'Antoni.

Don’t like the guy at all. Too damn stubborn to make changes. Can’t never forgive him for screwing up 2012-13 season.

The owner is full of ish. They never gave him a legit contract offer. Negotiations were quite public. He’s been in lame duck status all year.

The owner and Morey were both being quoted less than 2 weeks ago on Sportscenter and elsewhere saying resigning MDA was their highest priority this offseason.
revisionist history isn't going to work here

I know you don’t care or seek validation in any shape or form here in LG dreamshake but all I gotta say is it takes real balls to show up back here after what transpired in this series.

Gotta ask though , are most Rockets fans truly done with Westbrook? He caught corona unfortunately and then hurting his hamstring definitely had a lot to do with his decline this series. Still a superstar talent imo.

And Are Roxx fans Mad about trading Clint for RoCo? I felt you guys were more deadly with Clint

MDA kind of has a history doing this.
1. take an underperforming team, get them a high powered offense that looks great in the regular season and attracts a lot fans.
2. take this team to the playoffs, but they aren't ever good enough to really be a contender
3. after a couple of years where MDA is the "golden boy" for turning this around, he leaves for another place where he can play the hero again. He usually manages to leave 1-2 years before his old team starts to fall apart through either old age or just structural deficiencies created by building those kinds of teams

All true for sure.

Only thing is Screamin A Smith reported that as Morey sides with MDA 100%, the owner is getting fed up with Morey and his analytic excuses.

Morey could be out the door as well

Na na na na............. Hey Hey....!

Any news of numbers Morey! Maybe harden will listen to what Lebron told him (IMHO) at the end of game 5, and ask for a trade.
