Songs that cost artists my respect (at least temporarily):

I Just Called to Say I Love You - Stevie Wonder

Groovy Kind of Love - Phil Collins

Hello - Lionel Richie

You're the Inspiration - Chicago

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now - Starship (the botched reconstructed surgery version of Jefferson Airplane with and over-the-hill 60s icon Grace Slick obviously losing grip on whatever relevance she once had. You gotta watch this video.

Let's just admit the 1980s were a complete embarrassment

Foreigner played that song at some German metal fest and the metalheads in the crowd sang the lyrics with them anthem style. Remember hearing that on the defunct "That Metal Show". The song that made even Foreigner themselves cringe is evolving into a legit one.

Hot Blooded, Double Vision, Urgent, Waiting For A Girl Like You. None of those was their mega hit. It was that damn I Wanna Know What Love Is.

Hello was OK. The VIDEO sucked. That statue was a f'd up portrayal of Lionel even BY a blind chic. Lionel had to sing that kind of sh, too. He was pigeonholed after he left The Comms.

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now -- the hit from the 1985 blockbuster hit "Mannequin"!

Where the hell was Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Head Over Heels, and Shout on that list? That album was 1985 iirc. Songs From The Big Chair.

Then Stevie appeared on The Cosby Show. It was great. Bill Cosby brought us all together with that show. His charms put us all under a foggy spell.

No trashing Tears for Fears from this guy. I happen to think Songs From the Big Chair was one of the 80s best albums. In fact you might say I was Head over Heels about that release.

All 3 of those songs got mad radio and MTV play. I woulda thot that list would've been more diverse or at least have two Madonna songs. She owned 1985. I don't remember George bein more omnipresent than her that year, but I do remember Carless Whisper on all the time. That was a song that annoyed me, I think I turned the channel on it because it was seemingly 20 mins long.
