His shots can come and go but he has been solid defensively. Very streaky so hopefully Vogel can ride him whenโ€™s hot and bench him when heโ€™s not. I think matching him up with Lou will be his main role next round. He does not have the length to cover PG or Kawhi.

KCP is shooting 41.2% from 3 on 5.1 attempts per game.

But if you take out both game 1's where KCP was shooting like Stella before she got her groove back, then KCP is shooting a blistering 48.7% from 3. Fairly high volume too (~5 a game).

Not the first time we've seen this from KCP, let's hope he can keep it up for 14 more games . . . (likely far less if he keeps shooting like this).

you know....shooting % is not an inherent quality of a player.
furthermore we talk about shooting percentages to the decimal place...we're talking 5 shot attempts a game. if our language is on that number instead of the percentage it might change perspectives a bit.

let's say kcp shoots 5 threes a game...
he makes 1/5, that's 20%
2/5...40%
3/5 = 60%
4/5=80%
5/5 = 100%

to analyze the percentage seems unproductive to me, even ignoring the fact that the % is not an inherent quality of the player NOR does the % scale with shot attempts. So many things like that.

you can't even take in the totals over the course of a season or any stretch because they are totally different games, totally different scenarios...i mean, the opposing team is different every time.

You'll notice when the team is doing badly, everyone is bricking. Look at the rockets. It's all "momentum" which is not a real thing either, but at least it's a word that describes this idea.

What's my complaint here? I suppose I'm saying there is no additional information to glean off of percentages that these analyses that we are doing here seems to provide.

Thatโ€™s a whole lot of words to say absolutely nothing of note. Why donโ€™t you go find an LBJ thread to ruin so we can actually discuss basketball?

Big time. Just going by eye test but he looked like the best on ball defender against Murray tonight.

Yea, i thought AC did a good job frustrating Murray at times, but you are probably right.

Without his three to beat the shot clock late in the game this series is 1-1.

He's been pretty damn good from three all postseason.

That was an incredible, Mamba-esque shot! Definitely kept us in the game.

It's easy to focus on the clutch AD shot, but yeah, KCP really kept us alive, more than once.

Great game Tan. That shot you made kept Mamba staying the rest of the game!

Kapono is at 0%.

KCP definitely gonna opt out now lol

At least we have his bird rights, so we can give him a big one year contract over the cap this year before giving him a multi-year deal post 2021 if he performs well
