Magic's vision of having Rondo to relieve some of the pressure on Bron had some merit to it after all.

Reason he is playoff Rondo is because of his demeanor and mentality. Always even-keeled and never goes too high or low. Keeps his calm whether the team up 20 or down 20.

He's a bona-fide leader

So many people said Rondo was trash and I've only seen two people admit they were wrong.

Where are the rest of you?

There's so many thing going on. But did you guys hear Rondo when Jokic picked up his 5th? In the broadcast, you can hear Rondo's voice mentioning that Jokic got his 5th. Something like let's go at him, he got his 5th. I don't know if Malone was going to sub him out anyway, but they cut to him finally going over to a player to replace Jokic. Then they cut to Rondo's and his face is like "uh huh. That's right."

If you pay attention to what he says and does, it's hilarious.

He's also a competitor. He seems to get himself into the right mindset and focus in big games. I remember many years ago when Rondo was still with the Celtics Bill Simmons writing about him and he didn't call it playoff Rondo it was Big Game Rondo. And he was expressing frustration that Rondo could be so good in nationally televised games because he felt it was an indication that he wasn't trying as hard in the other games. I'm not sure if it's an effort thing there, maybe just a mental switch.

44% from 3pt line and 7.6 as in 25 min playing in this playoffs. That's hilarious. Guy switched to another level.

It does not matter what they said or need to have them come and tell it different. What we should be happy about is that our faith in Vogel, the vision of playing Rondo, was warranted. People acted as if Vogel can't coach (some still do) and has no vision for the game. It's been the opposite from the start. He knows his team better than anyone, and what pieces he has.

Whether we win the title or not, the vision of having this vet min player come in and play a 25 minute role was a wise one, as the Lakers had a plan from the start of the season which was almost a year ago. All you can ask your franchise is to put forth good plans and hope it works out (falls in place). Once we traded for AD, and Kawhi played us in FA, we did not have a lot of options. I think the franchise did a really good job in recovering. It sucked that we missed out on a 3rd star, but we got some solid coaching and role players that figured out a way to be a 3rd star impact as a unit.

His composure helps settle down the entire team. You can tell so many of the guys love playing with him.

When he connects on a lob with one of our bigs, it's such a huge lift for the team.

Last night Lakers won with 5 legitimate all-stars: LeBron . . . Davis . . . Howard . . . Rondo . . . and Vogel. Pelinka gets props for this.

It is frustrating because Rondo has the history and bonafides to predict this type of run of play... He is 15th all time in assists... 12th in assists per game... 7th in assists for the playoffs all time... Only Magic and Stockton average more assists per 36 throughout the history of the NBA... and people were calling him trash all season. Dion freaking Waiters got more respect from some.

I'll admit I was wrong that I didn't think we could win the title because we gave up too much depth and LBJ was getting too old... but here we are.

People should at least take the time to say one or two sentences when they spend dozens of posts trashing a man who is an all time great and playing for us on a minimum contract.

Just my opinion.

Now I'm patiently waiting for the veteran Danny Green to step up.

This is crazy to say, but at times (mainly in this series), he's calmed the team down more than Lebron, and usually coming off turbulent periods of play where Lebron was the main culprit. Dwight set the tone in the first quarter, and Rondo righted the ship from imminent collapse in the third. The refs sealed it in the fourth

That is why LBJ and Rondo compliment each other so well. Both are basketball savants and natural born leaders.

Just not a fan of those lineups with those two AND Caruso. That's usually when we get into a funk on offense. Glad Vogel at least stopped throwing in Kieff at the 5 with that group, which also got us killed on defense at the same time.

Yep; Vogel and his staff are going to have to do some serious coaching from here on in. It's mostly mental at this point.

Rondo will make a great head coach.

Well it looks like we would have been in deep (bleep) without playoff Rondo.

I don’t think Lebron at 35 could have played 40+ minutes as the ball handler. It would have eventually caught up with the team.

I wish we could transfer Greens Salary for the year to Rondo. It's worth it just for the playoffs.
