over at

cl, emplay and sky both mention that seattle is in "liquidation mode"
...have heard phil mention him...he would be deadly in our offense...if the two cant defend in the backcourt, kobe could slide over to the 3....what would take?

I would think they'd be weary of dealing with a competitor. Plus my guess is if they're looking to rid themselves of an expensive asset, they'll want cheap assets in return to start re-building. That means both expiring contracts and young up and coming players on cheap contracts. So really, maybe Bynum, Farmar + a bigger near expiring contract like Kwame to even out salaries. At the end of the day, I don't see either team wanting to do something like that.

Plus, Kobe and Ray aren't exactly best buds.

They loved Vlad. What would it take for Shard?

Vlad + Mihm (ending k) for Shard

Shard - Bynum/Brown - Odom
Kobe - Farmar

If Ray Allen truly became available I'd expect the Lakers to make a pitch - but it'd be another case of LA trying to offer less-than parts for an All-Star.

Maybe a miracle happens - and I'd guess that it's more likely than Gasol since Allen is older now - but it's less likely than Kidd - and Kidd is very unlikely.

Oh boy...

Ray Ray at the backcourt with Kobe at the 3, even if it costs us Odom, would be a deadly punch.

Id easily give em Odom/Kwame/Farmar for Ray Ray/Wilcox/Watson

Hmm...talent wise it makes sense, you'd have to throw in Mihm to make the contacts work, or actually how about Smush and a 1st as well to make it closer to what reality would be. Could Allen play PG? How bad could he be on defense?

Allen/Watson/Sasha
Bryant/Evans
Walton/Vlad
Wilcox/Cook
Bynum/Turiaf

But Odom creates mismatches, Kwame is an elite man-defender and Farmar is our PG of the future!

In all honesty, that trade would obviously catapult the Lakers into the Finals for the next 3 season.

I think we should do this trade -

Smush, Mckie, Cook, Kwame, and our 2007 1st Rounder for Allen and Petro.

1st Team

PG - Allen
SG - Kobe
SF - Luke
PF - LO
C - Drew

2nd Team

PG - Farmar
SG - Evans
SF - Vlad
PF - Turiaf
C - Petro

Bench - Sasha, Shammond, Mihm, and Devon Green
