One other thing that i've absolutely loved about this team is they rarely take any bad shots or even stupid tough shot "heat checks" which most teams do and we even did pretty routinely in the regular season. Nearly every shot Morris takes is a great shot whether he makes it or not and I can say the same for pretty much every single player.

I think a lot of that is our coaching staff and obviously how defensive focused we are and a few bad shots can help get the opposing team right back in the game.

Always cracks me up the Lakers got him for peanuts while the Clippers gave up a 1st round pick for his twin brother.

And his brother is having a far greater impact in a significantly smaller role.

Then again, I don't think Morris ever got the memo that the Clippers are Kawhi's team, not his.

LeBron's the only guy on the team with heat check privileges.

He's been making some great contributions with his 3s and D off the bench. Vogel seems to be favoring him over putting Dwight out there again.

He addresses a key weakness with this team and allows us to play small ball so gives us versatility.

I would pay him whatever it takes

We'd be down in this series probably. And I'm not even sure we'd be here. Was play 20+ minutes a game vs the Rockets after game 1 for example.

Yes, but at the same time, you can find guys like Kieff in the 5M range. His value is exaggerated playing around AD and Bron. Those guys are getting him open looks all the time, and on D, AD helps Kieff a ton.

I like Kieff a lot, because he is basically a smaller version of what I anticipated DeMarcus Cousins being. I would look to keep him and Dwight using the MLE.

I hope not, I still think Bam was able to get the best of him more often then not. It feels like the Heat get much more at the basket when he's in. I'd personally prefer to see Morris in the game mostly when Bam sits with some extra minutes if he's playing like tonight.

He was great tonight though for the most part, especially offensively.

I really hope we can keep him and Dwight. I love how different they are and allow us to have some extreme lineup flexibility.

It doesn’t matter, LeBron will be guarding Bam
It is good for Lebron too since he can conserve some energy

That's how I see it. I like him, would love to see him back. But sometimes role players coming off championships get overpaid. If the price is too high the Lakers can likely find a ring chaser who can fill a similar role. But provided he isn't commanding too much then by all means bring him back. He's been important in their playoff run.

Same with Dwight. He was crucial in the Denver series. I'd like to see him back. But if some team overpays him thinking he can still be a 15/10 guy still then you have to let him walk.

Not a fan of that matchup for an entire game at all personally. Much prefer Dwight especially to start the halves at least, not like he gets any minutes in the 2nd or 4th anyways so there will be plenty of time for that matchup then much like tonight.

Markieff has such a calming presence on the court. Everything he touches the ball I kind of expect something good to happen. He also provides toughness without being a jerk.

Please bring him back next season

Yeah we have to prioritize bringing him back. I'm not sure there's a better wing on the market we could afford.

He's been so key for us. Even in this game with the paint clogged in the first half, Vogel inserted Kieff in for Dwight in the second to give us more spacing. He's been so huge for us

I think he's more important to bring back then Dwight.

He allows our team to space the floor for AD/LBJ. If it came down to Dwight or Markieff, I may have to go with the latter.

I love what Dwight gave us, but to be honest, he's been unplayable for almost half of the playoffs. I hope we can have BOTH Dwight and Markieff back.

Morris was so key for this finals run. So many teams have gone smaller with Houston (centerless) and Miami (is Bam really a center?). Without Morris, it would be Kuz. Kuz will space but doesn't provide the same interior toughness that Morris provides. If you think about it, the Lakers can switch all 3 front court positions and do it with size over most teams.

Howard was key to getting past Denver, but Morris has been the most important 3rd big for this team.
