If AD/LBJ only win 1 championship, was it worth it to trade the assets that we did to get AD/LBJ?

If we only end up winning 1 ring with LBJ/AD, was it worth it to trade off the assets that we did to get that ring?

Yes. Even if AD doesn't stay long term. 100% sure he will though so it's definitely worth it.

Sure. We might not have ever won a title with those players and picks.

It is worth remembering that a lot of things had to go right this year to get us a title. First and foremost, if Lebron had another injury, we would have been sunk. This is also true for Davis, but the greater risk was Lebron due to his age. But you have to catch some breaks to win a title. We didn't get unlucky, and some of our expected competitors crashed and burned. It was risky, but it worked out.

Hell yeah. Winning one championship is really (bleep) hard. We don't win one with Ingram/Zo/Hart/future picks. We won one with AD.

I was one who was very vocal and worried about the trade. My stance was that you don't empty the cupboard for AD if Lebron is NOT Lebron. And I said at the time that the only thing that would make this worth it is a championship.

So yes, even if they win no more, this was worth it because there is no guarantees that the kids would have won one. I thought Bron may be worth his contract the first 2 yrs, then won't be worth it the last 2. But he doesn't seem to be slowing down. I couldn't be any happier how things turned out.

No. There was so much potential in DLO Lonzo BI

I'm confident they would have won multiple rings

I think just getting to the finals made it worth the trade. Nothing is guaranteed

Nothing wrong with that. It's cool to be fans of particular players, rather than a particular team, and move on with them if they move to another team.

Dude other than BI, we traded a couple of above average scrubs and some nebulous draft picks. That is so beyond worth it for #17

I agree if that’s what it was, but I’m pretty sure that a handful of “longtime Laker fans” were fed up with “the direction of the team”. They didn’t like trading away young assets for established players.

Of course. Think of all the dynasties that have controlled the narrative for the last 15 years.... minus the Mavs in 2011.

In the era of player empowerment, you better be the super team... or you're getting beat by one.

Yes, 1000 time over. In fact, I don't think we will win another ring in the Lebron era. Nor do I think AD sticks around that long. I say he leaves when Lebron leaves (2 years), unless we land a really high level superstar.

Doesn't matter to me. I just really wanted this one ring this year to honor Kobe and to stick it to the Clippers.

I'd trade 650 Lonzo Balls, 10 Brandon Ingrams and all the other dudes in the world for a ring any day.

Can the phrase "gave up too much" and "it's worth it" be mutually exclusive?

I was sad about losing a player, but I loved that we got AD. It was worth it since the trade was made.

I think they can win more. I also think AD will stick around post LBJ too.

AD is humble enough to learn from LBJ which is the key. AD will be the MAN when it's time.

I hope, I just don't think Lebron has enough in his gas tank. This year was very draining for him.
