I would normally never give Bill Simmons any clicks here, but Jared Dudley is awesome on his latest podcast. A ton of insight into the bubble, the team's chemistry and thinking throughout the playoff run, Lebron, etc. Dudz need his own podcast ASAP.

https://open.spotify.com/episode/2wrwz9nlWaMPqkjNjgKmwq?si=r--BbPyaQ2u_bknrQsJEug

My favorite line was when he said the Clippers didn't even wanna be in the bubble and how the Lakers were laughing when they choked away Game 7...trash ass loser franchise

The Dudley/Simmons segment was fantastic. I will say though, 2nd half of the pod when Dudz left was just straight sour grapes from Bill on the Lakers success lol

dude still felt like they gave up too much for AD and refused to acknowledge Rob building a championship roster through a plan B

Dudley said some really good stuff. Love how he talks about how everyone held everyone accountable even LeBron. There truly was no ego with this team. Guys played their role and accepted it. That’s special man. Him talking about Bron and Rondos IQ was cool to listen too

Dudley is always a great interview. Thanks for the link, TBM!

At work and can't listen. If anyone could summarize this, I'd really appreciate it!

I'd replace Stephen Jackson with Dudley on All the Smoke. Matt Barnes needs some help from carrying the show this entire time.

Dudley:

"As much wine as we drank as a team...man, I told LeBron this was like a college experience for him."

After wins...it was wine and cigars, lol.

That was an amazing tidbit. This team was so mentally tough and had the ability to just zone in/flip the switch when they had to that they apparently felt comfortable partying going into off days when they're playing every other day But that may have been what kept them so close and level-headed throughout what must have felt like an eternity in isolation from the world.

It also shows how big the gap may have been between us and everyone else in the bubble. They didn't even play their best ball consistently because frankly, they didn't need to...

I hope Lakers find a spot for Jared. Ideally as the 15th man. If not I would like him to stick around at some copacity. Miami keeps their guys involved even after they retire. Find him a role.

Very informative.

I enjoyed all of the stories.

Funny how he mentioned the Lakers and Sun Western Conference Final game when Artest made the winning shot.

Lakers were not going to lose.

Like Richard Jefferson Dudley loves to talk a lot, but he's less annoying and condescending than RJ.
He hated Kobe and the Lakers before but he's a Laker now so it's all good.

I wonder if the team thinks that Dudley revealed too much behind the scenes info during this interview.

I just got around to listening to the broadcast. His manner was so much better than some of the commentators that we saw in the playoffs.

I can't stand simmons. Such a hater. I love it when the Lakers can disappoint celtics fans.

Simmons is so bitter saying that his son could have run the team and won with LeBron and AD. And how many times did he call the Lakers a dumpster fire after Jarod left? Wallow in misery Bill!

I'd take Dudz as a 15th guy. Maybe a Haslem-like role for us. He showed that (apart from being a great chemistry guy), when given minimal minutes, he can still hit shots at this level

I used to get annoyed listening to Simmons talk about the Lakers, but now I just find it funny. The dude's just a ridiculously biased die hard C's fan who's constantly trying to convince himself that the Lakers don't pose a threat. It's cute.

I notice how he said Vogel is not getting is due for coaching the way he did. Said his attention to detail is insane and smart. Morris himself said he noticed it right away about Vogel. Both said it’s like nothing they ever seen before from a coach
