The Dodgers haven't won since 88 and judging from what I'm seeing on the internet most of these people weren't even alive then so this one might be more significant. Shout out to my Latin brothers and sisters, you guys are reppin L.A. hard.
P.S. Where are people getting all these fireworks |

Got my Laker hat in the mail the other day. And just ordered my Dodgers championship one.
To me, the Dodgers win is a bigger deal. Mainly because its been so long since the last one.
We’ve been spoiled with 6 Lakers championships since the Dodgers last one so it’s feels great to finally celebrate this one and get rid of the choker label. Plus it’s nice to see Kershaw get his ring. |

Lakers tying Foston for most championships ever with 17th is more significant but then again I'm a Laker fan. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024 |

Socially irresponsible to have large gatherings in the midst of the health crisis.
But that won’t stop it from happening or the excuse making when the infection numbers just keep climbing and climbing.
Now is not the time to be selfish or stupid. The protocols are not just for “other” people. The safety guidelines actually do apply to YOU!

I probably gonna get flame for this being a Laker board and all. I personally think the Dodger title is more significant to the entire LA area. Whereas the Laker title while is also significant for the city, but it means more individually to LeBron. But Dodger's title also means a lot for Kershaw's reputation, true to an extent, but basketball is such a star driving league, star's influence directly impact the outcome of games. |

I don't watch baseball, but I'm happy for the Dodgers because of the Lakers connection. |

This. Happy the Dodgers ended their drought, but they now have the sixth-most WS titles. The Dodgers are beloved in LA, but they’ve got a long, long way to go to catch the Yankees. The Dodgers have roughly 1/4 as many titles as the Yankees, who have 27.
The Lakers sit atop the NBA- tied with Boston and more consistently relevant over decades, with way more Finals appearances, and an 8-1 advantage in Finals wins since ‘87.
The Dodgers are in the opposite situation, winning last night for the first time since ‘88.
In baseball, the Yankees are the Lakers, there is no version of the Celtics, and there are five teams, including the Dodgers, that are in the Bulls, Warriors, Spurs tier.
Lakers winning # 17 is the most significant title win in any sport in a long time. |

17th championship led by GOAT to tie Boston vs first title in 32 years, after all the sh*t that had happened to them? Tough call, although I am a much more hardcore Lakers fan.
Regardless, double championship = literally once in a lifetime occasion, and we got two of them. Happy as a clam. _________________ Lakers fan since that Magical day June 25, 1979. |

I think the Dodgers means a little more to the city because of the 32-year-old drought, but regardless both are gonna be remembered for generations to come.
#17 has still not fully set in yet for me at least lol |

Stephen A. Smith made a good point on First Take, for a year that started off horribly with us losing Kobe Bryant who basically represented LA for 20+ years, our sports teams have done a good job uplifting the entire city with their championships. |

This is the 2nd time I've heard a backhanded compliment towards the Dodgers about their championship. No Dodger fan has any reservations about where they stand compared to other franchises in their sport. We are just happy as hell they broke the winless streak. It reminds me of the time when the Cubs, Red Sox or White Sox broke their curses and people bring up other storied franchises during their moment of glory....nobody cares we want our moment of glory and time to shine. |

I would trade it all away to bring Kobe, Gigi and all the others in that crash back in a heartbeat.
But it is sweet that the city has been lifting up the banners this year. It would be cool if somehow the Rams won the Superbowl too. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

I think they are both equally important. Dodgers after 32 years and lakers after so much frustration and heart ache.
Also.
You know what I love about having two baseball teams in Los Angeles. It’s that either fan has respect for the other franchise. They are both winners. Even when they were at their worst I never heard a dodger fan say F the angels. Or an angel fan say F the dodgers. There is always polite banter between the two fan bases.
