I’m definitely in full support of that move. It feels realistic and would be a great fit next to Lebron and AD in the frontcourt.

Agreed.

He'd be fine, but full MLE feels too rich for a guy who's a C at this point in his career.

Sure is. Can't imagine another team giving him more than the full MLE.

I can imagine teams giving him the full MLE. The Lakers shouldn't be one of them because...you know... Anthony Davis.

Ibaka for the MLE is an absolute steal. That would be a pandemic miracle. This is a $20 million a year guy in normal circumstances.

I would fire the GM who would give Ibaka 20m (even in normal conditions)

SB is a decent player but I'm not losing sleep or jumping for joy about him being a Laker.

15.4 PPG and 8.2 RPG with good defense is not worth the MLE?

I disagree with you completely. Ibaka is a 7-footer who plays great defense, can protect the rim, and hits three-pointers. He is the ideal player for the modern NBA.

Dismissing him as "decent" makes me think you don't know much about basketball.

it's like saying Teddy Roosevelt was a "decent" president or Gene Hackman is a "decent" actor. It shows a certain cluelessness on your part.

Yeah well Mitch gave Timofey Mozgov 64 mil over 4 years.......so yeah, Ibaka's wouldn't be the worst decision

I'd prefer someone who can run the offense, an elite young shooter, or Gallinari for the full MLE.

Ideal pairing with AD. Draws the bigs that wear Davis down plus hits long or midrange. I know we talk AD at C in a closing lineup but depth at C (any of Cousis, Howard, Davis or a ring chaser) allows Davis to butcher 4's more often. Get the 2 way swingman in trade and be happy with Ibaka.

Let's not compare Serge to Roosevelt and Hackman lol

He's an above average role player... I think there are better options than him but if we pick him up I won't be mad

That’s about as blatant as it gets. Only team he’s following is the Lakers.

Damn he did unfollow the Raptors. Sounds like a deal could be agreed upon.

If we do indeed sign Ibaka using our MLE, I wonder how we will sign that 3-and-D wing we also really need.

All that talk about teams already making agreements might be true. And it might start with Serge.
