Imagine if we somehow kept Dwight as well. Three headed monster of Dwight, Ibaka, and AD.
I don’t think that the Lakers adding Ibaka would set well with Dwight.
why are you still allowed to post in here....you are so lucky that trolling wont be disciplined
I have been disallowed to post anything on any forum by the status quo. However, I, along with people of my ilk, are compelled to disobey the will of the hoard. I hate VLF. Ibaka not sitting well with Dwight doesn't make sense. Javale played over him last season and the dude had no problem when the team sat him.
agreed if he was okay playing behind Mcgee who he was clearly better than then he should be fine with a pay bump and playing behind Ibaka who he is not better than...
1)tell Mcgee he will third behind Ibaka and Dwight so he bails
2)sign Ibaka
3)sign Dwight _________________ (bleep) Kawhi

As I reported, KD has been recruiting Ibaka. OKC reunion with Harden?
Moving this over from the free agency thread. Sounds like ibaka is a long shot now.
Not so fast, the best Nets can offer is the tp mle while we can offer more with the ntp mle. That is unless Nets salary dump a combination of Jordan, Dinwiddie or Caris and not re sign Joe Harris. _________________ “God knew they couldn’t be on this Earth without each other. ^^ I really don’t keep track of who has the bogus sources or not. They all seem to get things wrong most of the time and then they all crow when they finally get one thing right.
In any case, I probably shouldn’t say “it’s a long shot for us” - but KD trying to recruit ibaka and serge having interest in the Nets isn’t that far fetched an idea.
I'd still rather not see the Lakers spend the full MLE on a C with AD on the team, but if they're going to do it, Ibaka would be the right C to overpay. _________________ Under New Management
We will have 9 mil to offer, they will have 5.3 if I'm not mistaken.
And a surly DeAndre Jordan who may balk at giving up his starting job. Ibaka has a clear path to start with the Lakers. _________________ Under New Management
I do not think we need Ibaka as much as we need to re-sign Morris and get a wing defender who can make some open 3s, with the MLE. I like Ibaka, but everything he does, AD does better.
I would keep going with what worked so well last season with AD, Dwight and Morris, and even maybe McGee opts in. So you have your big man depth and when you need spacing, use AD at the 5 or if you need more size and spacing use Morris and AD at the 4-5.
4-5M on Morris, and the same on the best wing we can get > Ibaka at full MLE. Now if Ibaka wants to come at the same money they say he may go to the Nets for, that's another thing. Ibaka > Morris, for sure.
Who knows? Maybe Ibaka loves NY and has a strong relationship with KD. Maybe that will propel him to take 4 mil less per year and sign with Brooklyn. If he does, then we pivot to Bertans and, I can't believe I'm saying this, Carmelo. Or, we get the Morris twins to split the MLE. That would be neat...
Serge Ibaka would help but Lakers don’t have a clear path to even having the full MLE without losing some key pieces.
Those key pieces are Green, Bradley (assuming he opts out), Rondo, Dwight
We sign KCP for about 12 mil, Matthews for 3.5, Ibaka or the Morris twins (both) for the 9 mil. Then, we sign minimum guys to round out the roster. Without going over the apron.
Sign 2 minimum guys and there is your 13. Tight fit but I believe the math works for us to be able to use the non-taxpayer MLE here. But please correct me if I'm wrong...

Damn he did unfollow the Raptors. Sounds like a deal could be agreed upon.
All that talk about teams already making agreements might be true. And it might start with Serge.
Doesn't surprise me one bit. Remember all those deals that went down in first few minutes of FA last year? _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

Agreed. Morris and Dwight are really all we need. Morris gives us more versatility at multiple positions. Dwight filled his role perfectly and earned his spot.

I don’t trust Ibaka. He seems like one of those guys that would jerk the front office around only to get what he wants from another team. Move on.
Are you drunk? What are you talking about?
I am. But that’s beside the point. Ibaka has ‘use the lakers for leverage’ written all over him.
You may be right but we need to pusue him without missing out on anybody else in the meantime. By the way the drunk comment was freaking hilarious I love it!

Perhaps but thats just...oddly worded lol.
But to your point, not sure what leverage there is that exists here? Nets legally can't offer more than 5.3 mill for Ibaka while the Lakers can offer almost 10 mill. Unless you're talking about making the Raptors offer more but that ain't happening either. They saving for Giannis. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif
