I wonder if this would have happened if the start of the season were later.

As a fan of the NBA this really sucks.
Just goes to show you there really are no guarantees from season to season.
Warriors went from title contenders to probably just a team that is capable of a deep playoff run.

Some of those pick up games are pretty intense and theres probably no coaches courtside watching to make sure these guys tone it down.

How much more rest does he need? He hasn't played in well over a year. This is just piss poor luck.

This sucks not just for the Warriors but also for the NBA.

I was looking forward to a run and gun WCF against that team. Now they'll be lucky just to make the playoffs.

With Steph also up there in age, I think they should blow it up and start over. While Steph is still an elite player, trade him and grab what you can for him.

Outlook Optimistic At Least...

I’m still crushed but this gave me something to hang on to for the long run...

Per Woj

Based on the type of tear, Thompson has been told to expect that he will make a full recovery, a source tells ESPN.

Unfortunately some guys just start to break down earlier than others.
Klay having this injury right after the ACL.

It reminds me of Boogie.

Just sad. Great talent.

Great to hear. Klay's my favorite non-Laker for obvious reasons. Anybody that loves his bulldog the way he does is okay in my book.

He was extremely durable before the ACL.

Looks like the Warriors will be derailed by injuries. Age isn't helping either, Steph is 32 and I don't think he is as durable as somebody like a Lebron.

I really like Klay. I hope this is just a long vacation for him and he comes back as good as ever. Really miss watching him play on both ends.

A full recovery from an Achilles tear? Was it a partial tear? Sure he'll be "healthy" and regain most of his mobility, but the same player? Doubtful. History not kind to those with achilles injuries: https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/basketball/news/history-not-kind-for-ruptured-achilles-recovery/ . I obviously wish him the best and hope he proves me (and the data) wrong.

The cure in this case is prevention. More precautions should have been taken, but I guess spending half a decade in the finals will cause significant wear and tear. We saw how this injury wrecked Kobe.
