AD does not want to be playing center all of the time. Harrell is only 6' 7". When Harrell and AD are playing together, AD is going to be forced to play center--especially against players like Jokic, etc. Also, Harrell doesn't shoot well from distance so when he is playing, he clogs up the paint on offense. Not knowing nearly as much basketball as Vogel does, my best guess is that Harrell will be on the court mostly when AD is off.

Unlike this past season, the Lakers' bench should be much more competitive.

A center like Gasol, who still plays good defense and can shoot from distance, would seem like a perfect complement to this team.

Schroder is underrated (leading scorer off the bench last year) and plays with an edge. Great addition to the team! He does almost everything the Lakers needed.

I think he will come off the bench, and we will start KCP/Matthews. Allow Lebron to continue being PG for the starters and AD being the main target. This sets the table up on our first punch, and then QB 2 comes in with a different attack. Lebron sits, and then comes back in to close halves more as an off the ball player.

Based on what our roster is right now, I would guess

McGee/AD/KCP/Matthews/Bron starters
Harrell/Kuz/Caruso/Schroder top 4 bench

AD/Harrell/Bron/KCP/Schroder most often used closers.

I prefer AD/Lebron/Matthew/KCP/Caruso

Imagine that bench unit with Schröder, Caruso and Trez.

Minor thing we will appreciate. Schroder shoots 83% from the line. Matthews shoots 82%. Both slightly better than AD and KCP career wise.

More options to close the game in those situations.

You mean we won't be averaging 60% from the line for the season?

OMG finally!

Schroeder and Harrell got 9.2 fta a game last year combined. Combined with Bron and Davis, that's 23.4 fta per game.

SG: #16 Schroeder 3.6
SF: #5 LeBron 5.7
PF: #3 Harrell 5.6
C : #1 Davis 8.5

Still cant believe Bron is only 5th at his position on FTAs.

We gonna have to give opposing teams bras....cause we goin' to the RACK!

I still remember the mountain of bricks from the FT line from our "young core" a couple of years ago. Was so infuriating. Glad those days are gone.

How many minutes per game do you guys think Schroder will play? I say he needs to play about 30-32 minutes a game, first of all because he's that good and we need that production, and second because he needs to be out there with LeBron to reduce LeBron's workload and keep him fresh for the playoffs.

Schroder playing 32 may cut into other players' minutes, I would like to spread the wealth around. I could see him getting those minutes in close games, or the postseason. LeBron's workload shouldn't be a problem, he can let Dennis run the show while resting.

Using as many players as possible may cost a game or two, but at the trade deadline, this would give Rob more leverage and options. Gotta find some minutes for Kuz and THT.

Shroder, Gasol, Harrell, the Lakers are overloaded. Vogel's got more than he needs. Have to give it to Pelinka, he's doing better than I thought he would.

Of the new group, I think Dennis is the best add.

Schroder will cut into AC's minutes. Alex may be on the cutting block. He's a great replacement for Playoff Rondo.

On second thought though, Harrell is the best signing. He'll allow AD and LBJ to play fewer minutes. He's also a tenacious player. He goes the full 48.

We're cocked and loaded to repeat.

Uhh... not at all... AC on the cutting block? Nope. I don't even know what that means but it's wrong. Dude is a crucial part of this team.

AC is going to get around 20mpg which might ramp up come playoff time

Cut into his minutes? Maybe a little. Then again, when Rondo's minutes went up during the playoffs, AC still had plenty of opportunities to make an impact.

Yeah, way too much talent with little drop off from the starters to the bench for anyone to play significant minutes. I'm sure Schroder will be in the mid to high 20's most games minutes wise. He'll have games with more minutes/bigger role when Lebron sits some out with all the b2b's and 4in5 night stretches.

Rob committed a larceny getting DS. Nobody is going to ever want to trade with him again for fear that they get their pants pulled down. I love all the off season moves, but this one is going to be the best.
