Gimme a KG deal that makes a little bit of sense (like Odom, Farmar, 1st and 2nd), and then a resigned Billups for Kwame and a future 1st or something and leave me a lineup of......

anyone
Kobe
Walton or Vlad (whoever is left)
KG
Bynum

...then find a way of making the leftover contracts work. This is total pipe, but its fun to think of that lineup.

Payton and Malone were a little bit older than KG and Billups. They were both at a point where they had maybe 3 years left in their careers. Malone was done after 1 year due to injury and GP is just about done after year 3.

I'd say there's a slight chance that KG would opt out and sign for the MLE with a contender, since he would have made over a quarter billion dollars in his career by 2008 including salary and endorsements, but Billups' motivation for opting out is to get one last big contract. I doubt that Billups would see a 5 year MLE contract as significant and I doubt that KG would take a LLE level deal.
