Love this signing because it hurts the Clippers and a high motor guy who rebounds and shoots 58% never hurts. Yeah, we do need another bigman, but I'm guessing we're reserving one spot for Boogie.

I don't expect PG to be going to the paint while Harrell is on the floor. Cannot wait to see the matchup.

I didn’t really watch him much, just knew people were down on him after that Nuggets series and that he wasn’t a floor spacer. I’m liking this signing a lot more now.

Love the intangibles in the video

Box out, picks, taking charges.... also forgot he can take defenders off the dribble.

Anyway he's a solid hustle guy, he is a GOOD defender, and he's the kind of player that fans will love having on their team but hate having to play against. The Lakers have him now, he didn't get 6th man of the year for no reason.

I dreamed of having a Trezl/Schroeder like combination going for us last year. This is such an amazing pickup and potentially matches AD's timeline going forward and only for 9 mil.

I think a lot of the complaints will go away if we pick up a big body for the min. Who's still available? Gasol?

Agree, I said this earlier, but I wish Doc was still there, so this could get rubbed in his face too...!

See let’s get this straight.

The Lakers have the 6th man of the year, the second best 6th man, and the 2 best superstars.

Hmm yea!

Harrell is a good player but he doesn't fit with Lebron and AD.

No one knows that until the season tips off and how the team chemistry is plus if he struggles with the Lakers he has enough trade value that we can get some good in return for him

Why doesn’t he fit?

1. He can't shoot 3s. Lebron and AD's game will excel with a stretch 5
2. He is more like a small ball center but AD doesn't like to defend big size center all game.

He fits when you think of the reality that Lebron + AD will load manage significantly this season. You’re not going to see one if not both on back to backs to start the season.

Sure, but do you want to share your opinion on why you think Harrell fits?
I agree we can get something good if we trade him but if we are competing for the championship next year shouldn't we address our needs first before thinking about a trade in the midseason or next year?

After watching this video, I'm starting to think that he actually has the tools to not only be a good defender, but actually a great one.

Assuming Trez fits in and plays well with us, I wonder if there's any chance we keep him past his current contract?

That's a fair request. I will acknowledge that he may not have been the absolute perfect fit, I believe he'll fit for these reasons:

1. LeBron James- his multi-skills allow him to set Trez up anytime. Trez is a great rim runner, and he has the athleticism to dominate in the paint with the constant setups LeBron can generate for him.

2. Anthony Davis- IF he is not the most complete player in the league, he's among the top three. That translates into him playing more outside when Trez is on the court with him. His stroke is beautiful. He'll be able to leave Trez in the post where the guy can be a flat out beast. Aggressive, attacker who has the ability to softly lay it off the glass.

3. Dennis Schroder- a menace on the pick and roll, intelligent, pick n roll w/Trez can turn out to be deadly.

Back with more after we add more pieces.

Neither does Dwight or Mcgee and they fit just fine.

Vogel will find a way to make him fit. We wouldn’t have signed him otherwise

Bro, I still can’t believe we stole Montrezl (bleep) Harrell lol

Boston signed Tristan for the same contract as Trez.

Dwight fits one of the needs. Harrel doesn’t poses either of the qualities

Given that AD was reportedly wanting to see the composition of the team before deciding how long to sign, Rob was smart to strike and bring in Harrell given his youth vs some other options.

On paper AD will see he has a running mate bully who can drop 20 (on a value contract) and like what he sees a lot more than us trotting out aging ring chasers.

Like we are trying to repeat but we also have the hammer of death hanging over our heads with all the picks we dealt for AD, we need to keep him happy and make sure he feels we have a core that can grow with him.

I am hearing LeBron James is a mentor to Harrell.

If so, another great signing perhaps related to LeBrons relationships.

I think David was also mentored by Lebron?

Let him shoot open 3s. He has good but slow mechanics. Given the short turn around, we should be using the RS as a learning tool for him to expand his game. IMO if he can be good enough like Randle, it will be a massive boon for the POs.
