If we can somehow land Mitchell Robinson for Kuz and JaVale and a couple of 2nd's...

We'd have to take back a little bit more salary, like Dennis Smith or something. I'm trying to type this into existence.

I think the 2020-21 roster will really need Kuz....you don't?

I think he's replaceable with a vet min signing. Robinson is quite good. I'd then re-up Markieff with the newfound money we could offer, instead of getting Gasol.

Where are all these “vet min signings” ?

Shouldn’t a couple of them have stepped forward by now?

Getting Mitchell Robinson is hella tempting, he’s a Klutch client so you know Rich Paul is already working on getting him here if Kuz gets traded to the Knicks.

Put down the pipe. I live in NY and there’s no way they’re trading him to us.

There was talk leading up to that draft, as I'm sure you recall, that we had given him a draft promise.

For those of you just catching up on the last 3 pages, no the Knicks are not going to trade Mitchell Robinson to us or anybody else.

Regardless of what happened, Dwight is gone. No use continuing to cry about it. I liked Howard too, but he made the decision he made whether it was his miscommunication or the Lakers FO or both, he's gone.

With that said..keep this in mind:

Dwight played 18 mins per game at 7.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, which is great. We loved his energy.

Harrell played 23 mins per game at 18.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, which is even better. That's 5 mins more per game than Howard and I expect him to play even more for the Lakers. Keep in mind, the Clippers were not the best chemistry team all year and he put forth the energy.

Though some here don't love the Harrell acquisition, I do.

Marc is going to be a Laker, for sure...

Marc Gasol has narrowed down his choices to the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Lakers, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

No way he goes to Toronto after Ibaka left..

Then we would be complete. He is way better than Howard because of his Shooting and passing

Just to be clear, one poster saw the news we were talking to NY about a Javale deal, falsely panicked that we were trading Kuzma despite nobody reporting it, and now we have pages of Kuzma trade talk. Everybody chill

Not sure that happens. I am not a fan of giving up THT but for that deal and getting DSJ back, not a bad idea. DSJ was looking promising then went to NYK and sort of disappeared. Could be had for cheap.

Yeah we just need someone with cap or a trade exception to take McGee

Lakers can just send cash to Knicks for McGee, NY can send a nothing something back or even could be small cash to LA from NY with a 2nd to Knicks

Why are you guys acting like Kuzma would be involved in a deal to move McGee? That's nonsense.

Also, this must mean that Gasol and Lakers are pretty much in agreement as to what he wants to come and now Rob is moving the pieces to make it happen. That's the good news.

The bad news is that my moving McGee for the space to give Gasol more, we've now lost a big body as we're trying to add another. Obviously Gasol is an upgrade to Javale but still in a way counter productive and would need yet again another big man on the minimum as insurance.

Center Marc, Harrel, Davis, and insert 1 random big just incase. Harrel places Mcgee for the regular season so he is redundant. Just need another true big just incase injurys happen.

I’ve wanted Mitchell Robinson since he was in the draft. Was bummed when the Lakers didn’t take him.

If we make a trade with NY it’ll be for their cap in exchange for McGee and our pick. Or a sign and trade of Marc for that

I’m kinda annoyed Gasol is trying to squeeze a million more out of us considering what he’s already made in his career and also where we are in the cap. I mean, we still need to get rid of Javale anyway, but he could make this much easier by just signing for the minimum, which is not gonna be that much less than what he’ll end up getting.

The Knicks have emerged as a potential trade partner for the Lakers in a JaVale McGee deal, league sources say, as LA explores its various options

If talks progress, New York would surely require at least one additional asset from the Lakers to take McGee into salary-cap space

What are we doing if McGee goes to NY? Until a move simultaneous to that, or shortly thereafter happens, we'll be razor thin at the five.

Well, the whole purpose of sending McGee out would be to get extra salary for someone like Marc Gasol. Gasol and Trez are a perfectly good combination at center, and with very complementary skills, and then with Davis moving to the 5 if needed.
