What do you think will be the best Lakers rotation?
This is mine:
I think Schroder will be off the bench. They need a playmaker and a scorer for the 2nd unit while Lebron and AD are resting.
Starter: Bron, Caruso, Matthews, AD, McGee
Sub 1: (First Q and 3rd Q)
Out: Lebron, Caruso, McGee
In: Schroder, KCP, Harrell
Lineup : Schroder, KCP, Matthews, AD, Harrell
Sub 2: Start of 2nd Q and 4th Q
Out: AD, Matthews, Harrell
In: Lebron, Kuzma, Bruiser Center
Lineup: Schroder, KCP, Bron, Kuzma, Bruiser Center
Sub 3: Mid 2nd Q and 4th Q
Out: Lebron, Schroder, Bruiser Center,
In: AD, Caruso, Harrell
Lineup: Caruso, KCP, Kuzma, AD, Harrell
Sub 4: 2nd Q and 4th Q closing lineup
Out: Kuzma, KCP
In: Lebron, Schroder
Closing Lineup: Schroder, Caruso, Bron, AD, Harrell
The SG of closing lineup will either be Caruso or KCP or Matthews depending on the matchup. |

Hard to guess with 5 more spots to fill, but since KCP started last season and they are paying big money - he ain't coming off the bench!
Starting Lineup: Bron, KCP, Matthews, AD, McGee
First Substitutions:
Out: Lebron, KCP, McGee
In: Schroder, Kuz, Harrell
Second Lineup: Schroder, Kuz, Matthews, AD, Harrell
Closing Lineup: Schroder, KCP, Bron, AD, Harrell _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”

How come no THT? I'd expect he contributes meaningfully this year. |

I am listing who could play which position in no particular order.
Gasol, Harrell, Davis
Davis, Harrell, Kuzma
LBJ, Kuzma
KCP, Matthews
Schroder, Caruso, LBJ
unless THT or McKinnie emerges as a rotational player, a swingman is needed. |

Why start Schroder? We need his playmaking when LBJ sits. They can close halfs together, sure. But I wouldn't start them together.
Think we'll start KCP with Matthews. They can spot up and play defense while LBJ does his point forward thing.
Caruso's defense will be needed off the bench. Defense isn't Schroder or Harrell's calling card. Kuz is still working on it thought.
Wondering who our 4th forward on the roster will be after LBJ, AD, and Kuz.
9 man rotations or less are fine for playoffs. But this is a short offseason for us. We may need to give LBJ and AD some days off early in the season. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Schröder comes off the bench.
Our starting lineup will most likely be Gasol/AD/LBJ/Matthews/KCP. |

Starters will be:
Bron
KCP
Matthews
AD
Gasol
Closers will be:
Caruso/Schroder (depending on whether we need defense or offense)
KCP
Matthews
Bron
AD _________________ #18 next... |

Since Kief came back, we are set with our rotation, only THT is sort of wild card but I still expect him to play at least 5- 10 minutes.
Starters
KCP
Kuz
Lebron
AD
Gasol
Then Lebron get his rest along with Gasol and KCP and comes Trez and Schroder
Vogel will probably stagger Kuz minutes in spotting both Lebron and AD
And split the minutes between Caruso , KCP and Matthews and play whoever is playing well that night
And stagger center rotation between Gasol, Trez and Kief depending on matchups and save AD until playoff.
So I can see
Only 4 guys who will get 30 minutes no matter what
AD
Lebron
Schroder
Trez
And Gasol will get his 10-16 minutes at Center
And everyone will have to battle for minutes
We are deep though so hopefully Vogel will load manage games or minutes at least. |

Starters:
PG : Lebron James
SG: Wes Matthews
SF: Kentqvious Caldwell Pope
PF: Anthony Davis
C: Marc Gasol
1st sub:
Schroder for Lebron
Harrell for Gasol
2nd sub:
Kuzma for Matthews
Caruso for Pope
2nd Qt:
PG: Schroder
SG: Caruso
SF: Lebron
PF: Kuzma
C: Harrell
Closing:
PG: Schroder
SG: Pope
SF: Lebron
PF: Davis
C: Harrell
Also depends on matchups. Could see Gasol close instead of Harrell and maybe Caruso for either Schroder or Pope. I don’t see matthews due to his age and wanting to reduce min come playoffs. Right now Pope and Caruso are better |

Not sure Kieff signed on to come back for DNPs also THT will be used plenty in the Load Mgmt games. Otherwise spot on hopefully to what rotations Frank has in mind. |

I don't think Schroder has to come off the bench just because we expect him to lead the 2nd unit. He and Lebron will play more than 48 minutes combined and will thus overlap at some point. It might as well be the beginning to set the offensive and defensive tone off the bat. We started games too sluggish or stagnant at times last season. We have plenty of energy off the bench between Harrell and Caruso with Morris and Wes being the steadying influences.
Then you stagger Shroder/Gasol with Lebron as the game progresses. Basic principles IMO:
1. Starters: Marc, AD, LBJ, KCP, Schro
2. Always have at least one of Lebron or AD in the game
3. Always have at least one of Lebron or Schro in the game. Marc + Caruso might cut it too in a pinch.
4. Always have at least one rim protector in the game _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit)

I agree I think DS starts. I don't think it matters, it's not like there is typically who line up subs....they start together....bron comes out at some point...then when he comes back ...DS can sit etc.
I think it will be
PG - DS/Caruso
SG - KCP/Mathews
SF - Bron/Kuzma
PF - Davis/ Morris
C - Gasol/Trezz
I think our closing lineup will be starters plus Trezz |

I love the spacing from the starting 5 and we could have 3 Legit 6moy candidates (if Kuzma plays like I know he can play) |

I dont see Caruso starting but wouldn't hate it at all if they did.
I say KCP, LBJ, AD and Gasol are pretty much locks. I believe the final guy will be Wes as he pretty much is a cheaper clone of Green from the last few years.
Wes, Schroder, Caruso or even Kuz which would be an extreme darkhorse could all fill that last starting spot nicely.
It's been said countless times in the last few days but it's insane the amount of options we have across the board and how little the drop off is. |

Love the IQ from the front court Lebron, AD, Gasol
I can already see the back door cuts and lobs from Gasol to AD or Lebron and AD to Lebron/ Lebron to AD |

Starters
Kuzma (taking over Danny Green role)
Schroeder
Lebron
Gasol
AD
Bench players
Caruso
Matthews
KCP
Harrell
Morris
Deep bench (garbage time players)
McKinnie
THT
Kostas Antetokounmpo
Devontae Cacok
The only way the Lakers are going to find out what they have with Kuzma is to start him. If he does well, they Lakers can trade him for assets or sign him long term. But they need to know what they have now. Kuzma becomes the primary defender against the opponents best backcourt / wing player. _________________ Keep winning! |
