The world lost one of the greatest soccer players that ever lived Diego Maradona. It was one of the thrills of my life when I got to meet him. Rest In Peace my friend and my prayers go out to his family. 🙏🏾

Man, one of my favorites. Loved the 86 World Cup and that team. We'd go pretend to be those guys all the time.

RIP.

2020 should seriously just (bleep) off. 2021 has to be better, right? Right?

In my lifetime, I’ll take him over anyone. What he did in Italy for Napoli wasn’t done before or since. RIP

Is intensity code for crack cocaine? I would describe it as stupidity than intensity. But I can understand how you can't escape that life, especially with Mafia in your circle.

Man (bleep) 2020. Maradona is an icon and a hero to his country. A legend in football and an ambassador to the game. RIP Diego Armando Maradona. My sincere condolences to his family, to Argentinians and his legions of supporters all over the world.

Sadly, this outcome was not unexpected with his drug problems, but it's a jarring loss nonetheless. One of the greatest athletes the world has ever known, in the most popular sport in the world. RIP.

People in the United States don't understand how huge he was in the mid to late 1980s around the world. And that's before social media, before we followed every single thing our sports heroes do. We all grew up idolizing him in the Balkans. Since all the kids played soccer, they all wanted to be Maradona. Even back then, when someone was great at soccer in the neighborhood, we'd say something like "Look at that Maradona!"

Drug problems and suspensions then resulted in a sudden disappearance in the early 90s. He made somewhat of a comeback in the 1994 World Cup, before once again being suspended for doping.

When I heard the news this morning, I was obviously shocked. But I wasn't surprised.

It’s sad that we’ve lost another icon, he was such a good footballer.

As an Englishman I kinda hated him because he cheated us, but still admired his talent as a player.

He had several heart issues dating back to the aughties. He lived that rock n' roll lifestyle that did his health no favors. Extraordinary life and legacy nonetheless.

And cocaine can severely damage your heart and related circulatory system.

Maradona is lucky he didn't take the Len Bias route with his cocaine use.

A National Hero in Argentina and probably in Naples too.

His second goal vs England in the 1986 World Cup is one of the great goals of all time in my opinion when you factor in the moment and what it meant to Argentina.
