Thing that stood out to me most was LeBron being named top 5 at 3 different positions.

Why is AD only at 7% for any player to start a franchise around?

So were Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic. Just shows how positionless the league has become.

Pretty simple.

13 of 30 GMs would take Giannis first.
13 of 30 GMs would take Luka first.
2 of 30 GMs would have AD first.
1 of 30 GMs would take Lebron first.
1 of 30 GMs would take Williamson first.

In this era of the NBA, I wouldn't pick him to start a franchise. That is basically what the Pelicans did (though it was a reboot, not a fresh start). It got them nowhere. Davis is the kind of player who needs an alpha dog on the roster.

The fact that Christian Wood isn't one of the dozen names listed in the poll responses tells me that Houston snagging him is the most underrated player acquisition.

That, and Giannis and Luka are both much younger than him.

I would honestly take Luka to start a franchise. Can dish, can score, is a leader, he's everything you want

AD does best with a great facilitator on the floor. Luka is that. You get Luka first and build around him, then bring AD in

Davis is only 9 months older than Giannis.

No THT?

I wonder that if they did the voting today--instead of probably a couple of weeks ago--whether it would come out the same way.

Who voted for Durant and Tatum?
Considering what those two have done previously, it would be almost impossible to do enough to have a breakout season in 2020-21.

I would take AD over Luka but not over Giannis. You want to start a franchise with a two way player. Luka is young and amazing but he a big negative as a defender.

Has Giannis learned how to shoot the basketball yet?

Wait until these GM's see that AD was draining threes like Curry today. AD is literally the most complete player because he's the best defender and he could be the best scorer as well.

That's a big disrespect for AD or these GM are not very informed if they put Luka before AD. Luka can run an offense but he's far from being a top defender. He's not gonna do enough to elevate a team to championship contender. You need the complete package. His lack of defensive prowess will prevent the Mavs from being an elite team.

I know Luka is young but so is AD. 21 years old versus 27 years old. I have a hard time believing that 43% of the GM would actually pick Luka over AD if given the choice.

I know he can pass and shoot but he's like a Lebron minus the defense. I'm not sure if he could contribute enough plus/minus to help his team become a championship contender. Giannis is very overrated because he plays in the Eastern Conference as well. Not sure what people see in him to vote him the MVP. Bucks almost advanced to ECF without him.
