Yup. Will AD keep playing like this aggressive all season? If we get him help rim protecting, AD wouldn’t need to. _________________ |

Exactly. When AD actually plays hard the Lakers defense is all world. Which it will be in the playoffs when games actually matter. |

No doubt. The key is to get AD healthy up to the playoffs. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Honestly, I bet not winning the DPOY award was a bit deflating for him - probably thinking "I play all world D all season and y'all shaft me like that." And going through a long playoff run also gave him some perspective on the big picture. I agree with you guys - being healthy and ready for the playoffs is the most important thing. I have no doubt we'll see the AD from last year when the games actually matter come playoff time. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

At the rate we are giving up the inside tonight with ease I'll take the Wizard of Oz scarecrow guarding the rim. |

Maker is at least an upgrade over a G-League bench player. |

Maker probably off to BKN, they need a backup big more than us.
Lakers could have dibs on one of Maker, Dedmon, Vonleh, basically whomever BKN doesn't' sign. |

? Of course not. Is that a reason why his skill set couldn’t be helpful? |

I don’t think the lakers would sign an 11th or 12th man rim protector to take anybodies minutes per se, just as insurance most likely. Maybe take a few of gasols minutes in certain situations but not very often. If they wanna find somebody legit better than gasol or Harrell it’s probably gonna have to be via trade cuz those types of guys don’t usually get waived.
So Maker is for sure not better than those guys (especially on offense) but he is different from those guys, faster defensively, longer shot blocker, younger, can guard the pick and roll and defend the rim. Probably wouldn’t get too many regular minutes but could be useful in certain situations, and especially in case of injury. The question is is he better then antentokumpo cuz thats all they got atm and to that the answer is yes for sure if u ask me. But some better options could still come up or like some others said bkn also needs a big so he could get scooped up |

Yeah I loved this kid's potential but regardless of flaming out, he would be a nice insurance piece. Haven't seen much of him recently, but looks like he still has use: https://pistonpowered.com/2020/03/22/detroit-pistons-re-sign-maker/ Pick and pop on offense and hope for the best with his length near the rim and PnR |

Cavs acquired Allen for a 1st rounder. Wonder what they will do with Andre Drummond and McGee. Both have expiring contracts. Would like to have McGee back if bought out. |

Our combo of Gasol/Harrell is better than any combination of McGee or Dwight tbh. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Gasol and trez protected the rim just fine. Both are major upgrades on offense compare to McGee and Dwight. |

Look folks were not comparing gasol and trez to Dwight and McGee that’s not the point. The point is we have a lot of guard depth but not a lot of center depth, and we have one more spot available. So a big with a little bit different skill set from gasol and trez could be good. Length bouncy shot blocker type. Hence the talk of guys like maker or bringing McGee back (which would be great IMO) |

If we could somehow get McGee back - not sure if we could re-sign him if CLE buys him out, he’d have to be traded back or to another team who would have to buy him out - that would be ideal. Getting our rim-protector, title-winning big back in time for playoffs? We’d be practically bulletproof. |

It's about whom to bring in for the 15th spot in February when it becomes feasible under the hard cap, and has nothing to do with whatever comparison you are trying to make.
I just realize McGee is out of the question.
Anybody wants Andre Drummond?
Quote: |
When a team trades a player who is subsequently waived by the receiving team, it cannot claim the player off waivers or re-sign the player until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever is earlier.
Interestingly, a player can be traded to a third team, waived by the third team, and be eligible to re-sign with his original team before the waiting period expires. While this has not happened in practice, the league clarified its interpretation of this rule in 2017, in regard to a possible instance with Andrew Bogut. |

Hell ya I would want Drummond he’d be the starter but we’d have to make a trade to get him |
