Voting just opened and I believe fans are having mixed feelings about hosting the all-star game this year, but nonetheless I thought this is a good distraction anyway, especially from our sub-par play as of late.
Besides King James and Anthony, which other Lakers are you guys going for? |

Jaylen Brown
Frontcourt
Kevin Durant
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Joel Embiid
West

Most of these guys have contract incentives for ASG nominations, so nothing wrong with voting for them based on performance even if the NBA maybe shouldn't hold the ASG this season. _________________ Under New Management |

Speaking of all-stars. That DPOY guy in Utah sure does get (bleep) on a lot for a guy who is supposed to be a “perennial” DPOY. |

Kevin Durant leads LeBron James at top of All-Star voting
Quote: | Stephen Curry (2.11 million) was the only player besides Durant and James to exceed 2 million votes, and as a result was the runaway leader for the top spot among West guards. Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (1.39 million) was second, followed by Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard (998,853) in third.
Durant was followed in the East's frontcourt by Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo (1.75 million votes) and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (1.58 million), with the three of them well ahead of Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (822,151) in fourth.
Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, the NBA's leading scorer, led all East backcourt players with nearly 1.3 million votes, and was closely followed by Durant's fellow stars in Brooklyn: James Harden (1,093,611) and Kyrie Irving (1,014,763).
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown, Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine and Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young were a distant fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.
In the West, James was followed in the frontcourt by Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (1.47 million), LA Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (1.28 million) and Lakers teammate Anthony Davis (1.19 million), with Leonard's teammate Paul George a distant fifth. |

Sacramento Kings star De'Aaron Fox on NBA plans for All-Star Game: 'I think it's stupid'
Quote: | "If I'm going to be brutally honest, I think it's stupid," Fox said after leading the Kings to a victory over the Boston Celtics. "If we have to wear a mask and do all of this for a regular game, then what's the point of bringing the All-Star Game back?
"Obviously, money makes the world go round, so it is what it is." |
Quote: | Fox also was asked Wednesday night whether he would choose to play in the game if he were selected to the Western Conference roster.
"You know you get fined -- if you're supposed to be in it and you're not hurt and you decide not to play, that's a hefty fine," he said. "So hell yeah, I would play in it." |

We gotta get far more Lakeshow representation in the results. Not that they won't be overturned by the other voting blocs, but still... |

Other than LeBron and AD none of our guys deserve to be in the top 10. Kuzman or one of the guards will probably end up about 15th in the voting. |

Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James has 'zero energy, zero excitement' for All-Star Game
Quote: | "Short offseason for myself and my teammates, 71 days," James said, referring to the time the Lakers had from Game 6 of the NBA Finals in October to opening night against the LA Clippers in December. "And then coming into this season, we were told that we were not having an All-Star Game, so we'd have a nice little break. Five days [in March] from the 5th through the 10th, an opportunity for me to kind of recalibrate for the second half of the season. My teammates as well. Some of the guys in the league.
"And then they throw an All-Star Game on us like this and just breaks that all the way up. So, um, pretty much kind of a slap in the face." |

Its a money grab at this point. I'm not surprised, the league lost money in the bubble while they earned praised for strict covid protocols looks like safety is being overlooked this year at the expense of generating a couple more bucks. |
