I have high hopes for this kid. He is thinking too much and playing scared. Of lebron.

Needs to clear his head and play with more freedom.

All the physical gifts won’t mean much if it’s a head problem.

Just keep going and shooting tht!

Should not be scared of Lebron. Lebron is pulling for THT. Use it as a teaching lesson and grow from there.

Yeah, that's kind of a weak excuse imo. He'll be fine I believe but teams have clearly started playing him differently once his name begun spreading and he still can't use his off hand so if he's covered at all going to the basket he has to make an acrobatic great layup/shot now most of the time (which he is still fully capable of just not as efficiently).

When the above is happening along with his midrange and deep ball both becoming near non existent recently it's no surprise he's struggling. His defense has even taken a step back since that confidence is just not the same right now. You could even say his passing has taken a hit during all this as well. This is exactly why Vogel didn't immediately just give him the keys at the first sign of great extended play to start this season.

It's all about adjusting for him now which is the usual case for players his age. He def. has a maturity to him you don't see often at all in not only a player his age but a later pick as well so I think we all got a bit spoiled by his play when he was still mostly unknown around the League while at times looking like a savvy veteran. I still think he's absolutely the real deal and will be fine in the long run but it will be interesting how he responds as this season continues to unfold from here on.

I really loved seeing Lebron having a teaching moment with THT during the Nets game and explaining to him about the post entry pass. He has the most potential after Lebron at being good at it. Without Rondo that would be a much needed asset once AD comes back.

He’s been scouted and after a hot start, he’s back down to his normal terrible percentage from three. Still a ton of potential, but he’s still raw as hell.

During this stretch without Dennis, THT is your only rim attacker, other than LeBron. I don't think it's good for the Lakers offense to have both THT and LeBron share the floor at the same time. They should be staggered. THT should be given the green light, to play out of PnR's. Fair, or foul, and live with the results.

He's still raw, and will be inconsistent. Especially with teams keying in on him, now. But, this is good footage for him to review, to help his growth.

He ahs a lot of skills, but he needs to shoot a lot better on his jumpers. I hope we can be patient with him, but I hope he is also reasonable in his contract demands. If he is shooting about as well as Lonzo did his first couple of years, he better not be asking for full MLE money.

I'm not suggesting he's better or worse than Lamelo, but Championship caliber teams are the worst teams for young player to develop.

Lamelo on this team would be no different. His minutes would also be very inconsistent, he'd be an off the ball contributor (not his strengths), and his minutes would be dependent on how the vets ahead of him are doing, or how he's shooting in the few minutes he'd get.

All of this to say, that if THT were a Hornet he'd be just as impressive as Lamelo is now.

Needs to pick it up if he wants to keep his minutes when Davis gets back.

Also if THT was currently as good as Lamelo, he'd be starting over Schroeder.

I don't think the minutes battle will be with AD. THT will be battling Wes, for minutes. Will depend largely on who's playing better.

Also, the difference between THT, and Lamelo, is that one is a lottery pick. The other, a late second rounder. One is given fee reign, on a young team, with no pecking order. The other, has to fight for minutes, with vets, on a title contending team, with a clear pecking order. Opportunities are going to be different.

Lamelo, even when he plays bad, is going to get 30+ minutes. THT, even playing well, would be lucky to see around 20 mins. Just different situations.

I still believe in THT. Teams are now scouting him. It's time to put in the work with Phil Handy and build counters.

THT is not in the same stratosphere as LaMelo.

I like THT but this fan base truly over hyped the kid beyond belief.

He will be a solid player no question.

LaMelo however has superstar written all over him already.

Levels.

Until THT develop the left hand and a reliable shot, there is no point in compare. Let's the kid develop.

I think it's less about skill level for him and more about assertiveness

When he is out there with Lebron, he defers and generally plays like he doesn't want to mess up

If we gave him the rock and let him roll I think you'd see better production. If I'm Vogel I might consider starting him as a replacement for Schroeder as a ball-handler/scoring PG. He has great passing instincts.

I thought THT should have gone lottery in his draft so I was beyond the moon when he was drafted by the Lakers in the 2nd round. Steal of that draft without question.

I also thought Lamelo was the best player in last years draft, and was shocked that the Warriors would have picked a "big" over Lamelo. With that said, I'm not sure superstar is a foregone conclusion. He has some glaring holes in his game that are going to hold him back as games slow down, and turn more into half court games. He suffers somewhat (to a lesser degree) from the same thing Lonzo did; he has a rudimentary handle and as a consequence has below average shot creating skills, and an inability to break down a defense in the halfcourt. In today's league, when the games matter, you're relegated to spot up shooting without those skills.

I'm rooting for both THT and Lamelo.

well, with teams figuring him out, we should be able to afford his next contract now then he can take off after that

I think AC will hopefully be at the tax payer MLE level; and THT probably under $9m/year too. I think Klutch may try to do something like 3 years, $9m/year with 3rd year player option. Something like that.

Then we would have 4 very attractive trade assets, $6m, $9m, $13m, $13m, I like this

Wonder if Trez pouting at THT affected his style of play and aggressiveness? He is less keen to shoot and drive now. And when he drives he’s looking for Trez. I’d like to see more of this and not just giving the ball back to Lebron.
