AC with two offensive superstars where all he has to do is play d? Awesome. AC when he needs to do anything on offense besides shoot spot up open threes, terrible.

People worry about AC/THT getting stupid offers this summer. Am I the only one who think they will get below MLE offers and stay with the team?

I would be surprised if AC gets a better than MLE offer from anyone. Perhaps when he was shooting ridiculously well on his three pointers but he's coming back down to earth there, as you would expect.

He's a solid role player, great hustle guy and defender, but he is so ridiculously overrated on these forums it annoys me. I think championship teams need guys like Caruso, I want to see him stay, but if some team gives him a massive contract you let him walk away with his 5 points per game and replace him with a ring chaser.

That having been said I would like to see him back. I like having him on the team. But to me he's a $5-7M a year role player whose +/- is artificially inflated by playing against bench units and with Lebron.

AC is a point guard who can’t shoot, can’t create. If some team wants to pay him 10 mil, good for him.

He’s a meme who people forgot was just a meme.

I'm a BIG AC fan, I hope he can stay here long term.

I love the intangibles he brings. He helps us win games, but he is a liability shooting the basketball, which is a big problem for me when it comes to paying him.

He is not a shooter, that part of his game is below league average, especially for a guard.

He is not worth $9-10 million a year. If another team want s to pay him that kind of money, I would let him walk.

Yes he is getting exposed a bit the last couple games... I’ve been saying for awhile now that he’s becoming more of a black hole on offense. Last year I use to see him cut or attack the rim more often. I barely see him do that now. He just wait for an open shot now.

FYI:
AC & KCP are the only Lakers shooting above the league average (37%) from 3 point land.

That’s the hot start effect.

Meh AC does not shoot enough for me to put him on that group. The guy takes about 2 3s per game average. If he’s that improved then he needs to shoot more.

Caruso is (bleep) awful when we need him to do anything on offense. Great fill in the blanks energy guy off of two superstars, not even close to being a starting quality guard.

He did hit a couple of 3s, much better than his previous games, but he is a 4-5 mil guy at tops. If any team offers him more than that, good for him

Some guys put up stats
Some guys put up wins

Caruso and KCP are the latter.

I believe in them. They’re proven.

I've noticed Caruso has been making a really bad play followed by a good play lately. He just hasn't strung together full games of good play on both ends for awhile now. I'd love to see him knock down more shots but I can live with the misses, it's more so the other aspects of his game on both ends that were rock solid and have become hit and miss lately that is killing us.

He's been getting wrecked at times on defense as well which is not something that usually happens. His defense has become extremely hit and miss of late. Like THT having certain struggles i'm not super concerned it's just frustrating all this is happening at the same time when AD and Dennis are both out.

At least he's tearing the roof off of the salary ceiling he was starting to set with the early hot start I guess if you want to look at it in a positive light.

None of our current guards give us any kind of advantage when they have the ball, AC especially. In fact, that might be true if every player we played tonight besides Lebron. That might be our biggest issue right now with no AD. Hopefully DS coming back helps us there.

Very true. When AC gets dribble penetration he’s not much of a threat you break down the defense. With our lack of three point shooting people don’t have to respect us on the perimeter. So right now there’s not much we are good at. If we we’re knocking down threes that would open up the lane. If we had a lob threat that would force the other teams hand. Right now I’m not really sure what you do besides wait for DS and AD to get back, or hope our three point shooting improves, but this seems like more than a slump. We just don’t have shooters.
