Obviously I know how talented AD is, it his absence had really made me appreciate all the routine things he does so well. Can’t wait to get him back and see what this team has. Of course there will be a ramp up period, so I don’t expect him to come out blazing.

The Lakers' schedule over the next two weeks that they'll be without Anthony Davis (at a minimum):

vs. Indiana
@ Golden State
vs. Minnesota
vs. Charlotte
vs. Atlanta
@ Phoenix
@ New Orleans
vs. Philadelphia
vs. Cleveland

https://twitter.com/jovanbuha/status/1370581620273467399?s=21

Probably drop the games @ Golden State, @ Suns. I think Embiid will be out for the Philly game. So we pretty much can win (and already won the Indiana game) the rest. Not saying we will, but if Kuz and Dennis step up like they have been, and Trez as well, I think this team is good enough to go 6-3 in that stretch. Or 5-3, since we already won the Indiana game.

It is all about buying time to get AD healthy, and also at the same develop the impact from guys like Dennis, Kuz, Trez.

GSW will be on a second night of a back to back. They play Utah today.

We should be able to handle them

Warriors won’t be easy, they are taking it to the Jazz so far and 1 thing to remember is that the Warriors play more better at home then on the road.

They beat Utah and it wasn’t all just Steph. GSW has a lot of inexperienced players so they can be totally schizophrenic one game they’re amazing and the next game they’re a mess but they are talented. And they do have Steph and Dray so... anything can happen...

Yeah I get that GSW aren’t scrubs. However when I look at the schedule I don’t see them and think that we’re most likely gonna lose to them. Especially when they’re on a back to back.

They’re not a team we should be losing to.

Yup.

Obviously the closer we get to the playoffs the less time he has to get ready, but you want to avoid the worst case scenario which is a serious injury.

Best case scenario is he is fully healed with around a month of regular season to get ready for the 1st round.

My hench is that AD wants to play right now but the Lakers are telling him to take all the time he needs to come back fully healed while not suffering KD’s injury. the Lakers are doing a good job taking care of there franchise player.

IG, I don't think so. He was evaluated Friday by the team Doctors and they said they are going to reevaluate in 2 weeks. Then if all go as planned, they will begin an easy but steady practice regimen. Possibly will take another 2 or 3 weeks more. So 4 to 5 weeks. We are talking about almost end of April.

So, it is not what AD wants.

Our April schedule is easily the most brutal stretch of the season.

Well, we knew this could happen. Rest and pray that we maintain at least the 3th seed.

Frank Vogel says “nothing has changed” with Anthony Davis’ timetable and that he’ll still be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Anthony Davis is still just doing leg work, and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. Nothing has changed beyond that, according to Frank Vogel

Just saw an NBA ad featuring AD, and it made me realize, wow, I really miss watching that guy play. His stroke is so aesthetically pleasing, his BBIQ is so palpable, just really poetry in motion. Hope he comes back ferociously, and soon!

So according to this, he will be re-evaluated next week. Theoretically, he may start practicing next week. Still don't want him to rush though. His injury is more severe.

In case anyone forgot:

Game 2 western conference finals, AD scores the last 10pts and hits the game winning 3 as time expires.

Hell of a performance by AD. I remember screaming so loud my 4 month old son (bleeped) his pants

That was his best game as a Laker for sure. In the offseason, I probably watched that game 2 ending the last few min, at least 5 times, Such a great moment in Lakers history, and the tribute by AD to Kobe was just poetic on so many levels.

Lakers are 7-9 since the AD injury. We have also missed Bron in some of those games (I believe 3 losses came without Bron). We really need our big 2 back at full health. So before the AD rest (rehab) we were something like 21-8. well over .700 ball. And even that AD was not 100%, clearly.

One concern is like in 2018-19 season, we do not want James or AD back with limitations. I for one, rather just give up on the season than watch as the NBA takes turns beating up on a less than fully healthy AD-Bron. It is a race against time, to get these two 100% healthy. I do not want to see the Bron we got in 2019 after his groin injury or the AD struggling with his foot his season. We need these guys fully healthy, big picture.

Anthony Davis has made expected progress in his return from his right calf strain, but he remains “a ways away” from returning, said Frank Vogel.

Am I the only one starting to fear that this will turn into an injury of the season-ending variety?

If so, do we shut LBJ down to save some tread?

Yup, they obviously would have loved a higher seed but at the same time as long as they make the Playoffs there's no way they are risking anything extra for the regular season at this point.
