PostPosted: Wed Feb 14, 2007 3:06 am    Post subject: Kwame + a lot for Kidd

From RealGM (http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=625679&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0):

"New Jersey's medical staff examined Kwame's ankle and shoulder injuries"

The downside of it is that package of lakers to be sent out may include Farmar and Cook. If that's true, Lakers are giving up pretty much for Kidd + whoever is included form Nets.

The rumor is strong indeed.

But I don't like the package that people talk about at all.
We are giving up too much youth and potential. Especially in Farmar. I'd rather keep Farmar and Cook and send out Radmanovic. But I can understand Nets position of not taking up a player whos contribution per money is probably among the worst in the league.

I'd love to send out Vlad instead of Farmar and Cook as well, but they'd chuckle. If indeed they want that package with Farmar and 2 firsts, hopefully they can talk them down to 2 of the 3. I believe that Buss bill break the bank and pay luxury tax if he lands a player that will put them in position to win a ring soon...but if this was the deal, it would be done by now. I don't think they will get desperate and cave into NJ's demands, and though it is the most action we've had around here in a while..it wouldn't break my heart if they just waited for everyone to get healthy.

my translation ?

im' really pushing for it, but my stingy boss and incompetent negotiator are stopping me from getting my wish...

if its kidd - no farmar please. i can't stress it enough.

if its bibby - i'm all for it, just make sure we get a big from the kings or some other team to replace kwame.

I doubt NJ's medical staff examined Kwame and then he's sitting right behind the Lakers bench at a game smiling and laughing.

Ive looked at that clip a few times trying to figure out what Phil might have been thinking during that long, intense pause.

The best i can come up with is - "i can't believe he just put me on the spot like that," or something along those lines. And it almost seems like his response it sarcastic.

I'm not confident in that though. Anybody have any other ideas?

Nah, Phil knew that question was coming. I think he was trying to say it as politically correct as possible, knew he couldn't, so just waited for the question to be rephrased.

If he was searching the archives for a politically correct answer, that hard and that long, then i've never seen him stumped like that before. He usually SPEWS politicaly correctness...

Man, looking at it again, i've also never seen such intense silence before!

I wonder how long it would have lasted had MacDonald not rephrased the question!

That silence was not a person who didn't know what to say instead it was someone who knew what the answer was but had to make a Poker face to hide it.

He's probably just some dude from here that is over there making stuff up.

In fact, his alter ego here on LG is probably telling everyone about him trying to get everyone all excited about what he has to say. Kind of sad really.
