Something is clearly up. I was just about to post what Ocho posted - because Lakers PR put out a statement that completely contradicts what Frank Vogel said
https://twitter.com/mcten/status/1375622294110932992?s=21 .
What’s really good right now? 🤨 |

McMenamin has been getting pretty tight with Klutch...so I guess depending on you believe more: Vogel or Klutch via McMenamin and probably through Shams at a later point. |

Great news on AD. Naysayers can kiss it.
He will be back soon and Lebron will be rested when he comes back too. |

Do we know if he is still dealing with the achilles tendinosis? Or is it just the calf strain now? |

Is it fair to say we expect Anthony Davis back before Lebron? _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

If AD comes back before LBJ he should only play against beatable teams.
If the team is good, he should just rest because we probably aren't winning anyway without LeBron. He should just play enough to keep us from falling out of the playoffs. |

AD needs a 7T MRI
they saw something on the MRI. probably still some swelling and inflammation.
but the resolution of the standard 3T at Cedars Sinai isn't good enough to tell if there is a partial tear or micro tear
There are only like 7 to 10
7T MRI in the United States
Cedars Sinai and the Lakers Kerlan Jobe group doesn't have one
USC has one
Stanford has one
UCSF has one
AD needs to go to USC, Stanford, or UCSF and get his Achilles imaged with a 7T MRI scanner with enough resolution to see a micro tear in the Achilles
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4143127/
Abstract
Objectives
To demonstrate the feasibility of depicting the internal structure of the Achilles tendon in vivo using high-resolution 3D ultrashort echo-time (UTE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at 7T.
Materials and Methods
For our UTE imaging, a minimum-phase radiofrequency pulse and an anisotropic field-of-view 3D radial acquisition were used to minimize the echo time and scan time. A fat saturation pulse was applied every eight spoke acquisitions to reduce blurring and chemical shift artifacts from fat and to improve dynamic range of the tendon signal. Five healthy volunteers and one patient were scanned with an isotropic spatial resolution of up to 0.6 mm. Fat-suppressed UTE images were qualitatively evaluated and compared to non-fat-suppressed UTE images and longer echo-time images.
Results
High-resolution UTE imaging was able to visualize the microstructure of the Achilles tendon. Fat suppression substantially improved the depiction of the internal structure. The UTE images revealed a fascicular pattern in the Achilles tendon and fibrocartilage at the tendon insertion. In a patient who had tendon elongation surgery after birth there was clear depiction of disrupted tendon structure.
Conclusions
High-resolution fat-suppressed 3D UTE imaging at 7T allows for evaluation of the Achilles tendon microstructure in vivo.
Keywords: Achilles tendon, ultrashort echo-time MRI, tendon microstructure, ultra high field MRI, tendon fiber structure

If I were AD I would fly up to San Francisco and have this 7 Tesla MRI done on his Achilles

AD could have played weeks ago but there being extra extra cautious cause he has a injury that needs to be taken care of, everyone already knows what happens when players come back to soon. |

I just saw and posted this. It was funnies
I don’t agree with the line of thought that “he could’ve played already” but this that and the third. The Achilles factor is real and not to be played with. But I glad to hear he’s progressing well |

No doubt. I’m guessing if they slip to the 7th seed...you see him then.
3 games clear right now. Probably comes back 4/17 against Utah. Best case scenario is probably 1 week which puts him @Charlotte, but as long they hold the 6 seed I think the Lakers will drag it out as much as possible. |

Nick Wright said he's coming back to play against Dallas. Shaq hinted that he's coming back sooner but wouldn't say when on Inside the NBA.
Sounds like next week will be the last week without Anthony Davis. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club
