I remember thinking a while ago that this guy was like the most random lottery pick player.

This guy is a volume 3pt shooter so he would need mins to get warmed up, don’t think he’s going to get those mins unless he starts off hot or actually plays D.

WTH?

Whoever put together these highlights is definitely trolling, 3 out of 4 of the highlights is McLemore just passing to other players making a 3.

Court awareness. Check.

Not excited about this guy. Every good shooter that comes to Lakers becomes crap. Besides that he cannot do anything so. Not going to change anything.

He can deliver the hell out of those 1-3 foot passes! There were even a few one handed or bounce passes that went 4-5, watch out guard depth.

you're overrating him as a passer

he's a catch & shoot guy, nothing more

didn't improve as a ball handler or passer since his rookie season

hopefully he'll have 2-3 games where he's having a hot hand

We now have three of top 20 players from the 2013 Draft, and Anthony Bennett was the top pick! (Could Porter be a 4th?)

Anyways, I think if he can be properly motivated, he can make a difference. No way am I getting rid of McKinney, if anything the target is Matthews and let him have his minutes, because surely Wes has not done what he was brought here to do. Lakers always get shooters on the downside of their career who end up not being able to shoot once they get to the Lakers. Not to mention when I see Wes on the floor, I feel he's fragile with his repaired Achilles...

I hope this is not the case for McLemore. However this guy is still young, athletic and has produced on teams like the Kings and Rockets, so hopefully being on the Lakers with his other stable-mates, causes him to step his game up.

Last night was a good game for the Lakers, I'd like to see him suited up against the Heat in the game with Bron and AD in his ear urging him to be better.

I think this is a good signing for the Lakers, it's slim pickings right now on the buy-out, but another good defensive wing could become available and we have enough players to waive/buyout if need be.

I saw some good attacking on closeouts and finding the open man. It looked similar to the improved Kuz tbh.

I know it’s highlights, but he had some good reads and definitely skills for the coaching staff to work with...

Yeah, it definitely looks like BMac's play making skill is at least a half step above KCP's ability, which is next to nothing in general. Every little bit counts.

Want to get excited about this signing but shooters come to die with the Lakers. I’m convinced Steph and Klay would shoot low 30’s if they came here lol

I'm a bit confused about this signing but I admit I don't really know McLemore's game: what does he provide that Cook didn't already?

Like 2 more inches of height and the feeling that his coach might actually play him in something other than garbage time

The last one there wasn't even QC's fault... it's like Vogel put a sticker on his forehead that said "DO NOT USE UNLESS GAME IS OVER"

Defensively he's limited.

He is a 3 pt specialist

Layups? I mean we all lived through D Fish...so who can be worse at finishing at the rim than that?

Heartbreaking story if you look into his background. Mas/Ireland spoke about it a little bit the day the Lakers signed him.

Came through some intense circumstances as a younster - He is a hard worker. Definitely provides some wing depth insurance but he seems redundant with KCP and Wes on the squad.

Is he still athletic? I remember he was really athletic coming out of college. He isn't old and hasn't had a major injury.

A comparable shooter to KCP and Wes albeit with a higher volume from the 3pt line which this team lacks. More explosive, quicker and can at least do straight line drives to the basket which are non-existent with KCP and Wes. Need to see if Vogel's defensive schemes and having defensive minded teammates can prop up his defense.

As bad as KCP has been shooting the ball this year I dont know how a player coming in that can make wide open shots redundant

Sometimes.....a change of scenery can help a player and it isnt like this player has not been a good 3 point shooter in the past.

I think we all like to remember the good days KCP and WES has had so much that we kinda gloss over how blantantly horrible they have been this year.

Exactly ^

Redundant only in the sense of offensive production KCP/Wes theoretically bring.

KCP has a bit of a longer leash because of what he did in last years playoffs.

Wes has only his reputation as equity, but has started to play better as of late.

If nothing else should lite a fire under KCP.

KCP, Ben McLemore, Wesley Matthews ... may the best guy win.

Love what Lakers are doing, creating a logjam at every position for this playoff push.

Gasol going to fight for minutes with Davis / Harrell and Drummond at C.
And even Devonte has been showing he deserves minutes.

Rob Pelinka pure genius.

Yep, last 10 games he’s shooting 38%. 43% for the last 15. He needs to work on volume right now. His attempts are on the 3.5 range lately, needs to be 5-6 per game.
