The only team I was a little worried about were the Mavs.. It was nice to see them lose today against a bad team and it's looking like we could have both AD and Lebron back before our double header against them later this month but even without both I see us splitting those 2 games.

Not really worried about the Blazers at all honestly even though they're somewhat close right now. They have a pretty tough schedule to end the season and I see us only moving up now.

If we're close to being the 7-8th seed at the end of the season it means some really bad things likely happened.

Games to check tomorrow:

Mavs vs Bucks
Blazers vs Jazz

Lakers vs Heat

A win by Lakers and a loss by the Mavs and Blazers will put the Lakers in a better position. Hoping for that outcome which is possible.

I was thinking... I might just rather do a play in and face the Jazz in the first round instead of be 6th and face Clippers first round. We match up much better with the Jazz as the Clippers have a ton of wing defenders to throw at Lebron.

It's hard to gamble in that Play-in, (bleep) happens, and they may not recover in 2 games.

Lakers will need to win to go on a run (5-6 wins in a row) when AD-Bron return, to stay in the top 6, or even higher. No doubt about it.

I don't know. I have this feeling a play-in is just what we need. If Bron and AD are well rested now we could use a few extra competitive games both do build chemistry and to get into playoff mode/game shape.

Damn Bucks could not even do us a solid. Mavs won

Blazers lose but honestly it's Dallas who I'm looking at here. I figured Blazers (until AD/LBJ) will pass us anyway eventually, but was hoping the Mavs would play .500 or below for a bit. Nope.

That 2 games vs the Mavs will probably determine if Lakers will be in play in or not. If Lakers both losses that game, they will probably be in the Play-in. Mavs has pretty easier schedule than them after that. The only chance they've got is for the Blazers to lose most of their remaining games.

They won’t drop that far but I’m 100% sure they’d win a play-in game anyway.

I’m not 100% sure on anything when it comes to the Lakers....Every team no matter how sucky seem to play like beasts when they face us.

Yup, that's why them in the play-in is really a risky spot for them.

I see that sentiment a lot and it’s weird to me because in my opinion it always seems like the complete opposite. When other teams come out flat, they get dominated. But the Lakers can play absolutely awful for 3 1/2 quarters and it still won’t be more than a 2-3 possession game.

Maybe there has been a game this year where an opponent came out clicking and were just unbeatable that day but if so, I honestly don’t remember it. I can think of tons of games where the opposite happened though.

I think the concern comes from how many times the Lakers came out flat and had to battle back from 15-20pts down. And the times they didn’t.

Also remember the loss to GS after leading by 17 pts in the third( fourth?)

Even a fully healthy Lakers had some poor performances against “lesser” teams. I just want to avoid the issue by staying out of the play-in.

Lakers have enough to worry about just getting their healthy/ dominant mojo back without needlessly adding the pressure of a short series.

I almost wonder if fighting through a play in tournament might be a good way to build up chemistry again after LBJ and AD return, despite the obvious risks.

No. Absolutely not.

Nothing is guaranteed and anyone can have an extremely hot shooting night.

I’d rather be in the play in than be a 5-6 seed. Not excited about starting playoffs against Denver or the Clippers. One round of a warm up I actually think would be of benefit for us. It’s added time to gel as a group.

7-8 seed have double elimination. A team can get lucky once against us not twice.

I think Mavs will take the #5 spot. There last 13 games of the season are vs bottom dwellers other than Nets and Heat. Mavs will have a record of at least 10-3 in that 13 schedule.

Their last 13 games:
kings
warriors
pistons
wizards
kings
heat
nets
cavs
cavs
grizz
pels
raptors
wolves

I think the #6 spot will be between Lakers and Blazers who both have a hard remaining schedule.

A loss in the 1st game will give the team all the pressure in a do or die game while the opponent is just happy to be there with almost nothing to lose

Not afraid of any of them with our squad healthy.
