He's a great role player off of great players. He's a finishing salt on your steak, not the steak. |
This is actually well stated. |
Forgot if it was darius or pete who used that analogy from the LFR pod. |

I like the analogy. Put another way, AC is like an advanced pawn piece on the chess board that is strong when protected but easy pickings when not. |

Caruso is a highly valuable Role player that excels in faster paced games and alongside 2 stars. He’s a luxury to have but his warts show too often. If the jumper was better and he didn’t defer so much on offense he would be much more valuable. _________________ You mystified at what exists inside

Caruso would have really benefitted from a full off season, he didn't get the rest or get to put in the time to work more on his shooting. Caruso really needs to work on the 3 of the 3 & D guy role. He needs to up the free throw shooting to above 80%, and aim to be a 40% 3 point shooter.
The problem is that he is more suited to be a bench grinder combo guard. What you get now, 6 points on a good night, couple of boards, assists, and steals, especially if he is playing with all-stars on the floor.
That to me does not scream MLE money player. Sorry, love the guy to death but its like overhyping Sasha when we had him here or what we paid Vlade the Impaler when he was our SF. Guards get paid to put the ball in the hole, and Caruso getting 10 points a game is like AD getting 4 blocks a game: Happens once in awhile, nice when it happens, likely only 4 or 5 games a year. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Very good game today, but I still have to complain about him causing a backcourt violation in the fourth. THT gets trapped, gets AC the ball with no one in front of AC, and AC is too scared to dribble and waits for THT to try to get free money from instead, by which time it’s too late and the Lakers get the violation. I really hope they gave that to AC and not THT.
Still, great to see AC actually take open shots when he got them instead of constantly looking for someone, anyone else to take the ball from him. More of that in the future please, even against the better teams. Best game AC has had in a while on offense while still playing his usual great defense. |

His reaction when THT passed him the ball was odd. He looked at the ball like there was something on it. He look like he got distracted for a minute.
Ankywhoo overall good game CGOAT |

Been inconsistent most likely cause by nagging injury since the start of the season. But if Caruso can get back to the groove, him and Lebron will become layup waiting to happen. His 40% 3 ball is a welcome addition considering he has been off and still not playoff ready. |

Caruso has looked good the last couple of games (on offense, he’s always good on D). Very nice. |

Caruso is a 3&D shooting guard with some pg skills. His D is elite (usually) and his 3 is streaky. Unfortunately we need those "some pg skills" the most right now so it looks klunky when opposing teams sell out on ball pressure. |

This is why the Lakers need to keep both AC and THT.
I don’t mind letting Schroder go if Lakers can keep Drummond and the two young guards. |

goat is leading the lakers in 3pt shooting the past 7 games.
12/19 (63%) from 3
maybe he should attempt more and stop hesitating. |

Dennis has absolutely nothing to do with us keeping Drummond or not though? |

Very efficient night offensively for AC and his defense was excellent (+21).
IMO if AC shows up like this, on a more consistent basis, the Lakers could be a respectable team even w/o AD & LBJ.
Stats: 13 points (4-6FG / 3-5 3PT.), 6 assists |

I believe you are correct. I have heard the plan if we keep Drummond is to offer him the MLE, which I believe it means Harrell is the one we can't keep. |

This is why I think the Lakers keep all 3 of them. They are all different style players.
AC excels off the bench.
THT has some seasoning and areas of growth.
Dennis can play starter minutes now and is a defensive pest and scoring guard. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

in games like this I dont get why Vogel refuses to go with the hot hand and just ride Caruso for 30+ minutes. We almost lost this one by him constantly benching Caruso for guards who were just stinking it up _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

This was a great game to watch. Caruso is tough. You could see Lebron really getting into it for his boy AC on the bench. He was pumped, and even walked out to the free throw line to help pick Caruso up after he took a big charge in the 4th |

Definitely. This is something I noticed last season as well. I remember thinking to myself, "great another coach with crappy rotations."
I think there's a method to his madness as seen by his rotations in the Playoffs. It's like he's deliberately experimenting with every type of lineup in every type of situation. I read somewhere that he is big on analytics and leverages this data in the Playoffs.
I expect him to have the right guys out there when the real season starts. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

There’s no way we can keep both. Drummond has to take a huge paycut, Trez has to pick up his option. And Kief has been playing well, I don’t think he’ll do another minimum. |
