chris paul would make a good coach based on what?

Rajon is in Vogel's ear all the time, watching film with the coaching staff, reviewing film with the players, telling lebron to stop rolling his eyes at kuzma, etc. he's making his intentions known.

I don’t think Vogel has played a minute of organized basketball in his life and he is a championship caliber coach

He played division 3 college ball. Pretty sure that's "organized".

Unsurprisingly, the Rondo/Westbrook minutes have not been good so far. Those lineups are a -15.6 during their 30 possessions, have an eFG% of just 43% and defRTG of 115.6.

80 games left

Rondo and Westbrook had the Haircut Beef in the Bubble.. Maybe Vogel was forcing them to play together immediately.. I dunno

I loved when PJ was here.. could always have some side zen voodoo (bleep) to psychoanalyze..

Showed today why Frank trusts him. You could see the worlds of difference in how AD gets the ball, how the leadership is, how the game is managed with him vs Westbrook.

When Nunn returns, I would like to see a little less of Westbrook. More trust given to Rondo, Nunn.

idk Rondo was fully engaged tonight and balling out but this is absolutely not the Rondo you get consistently in the regular season. In the Playoffs I agree 100% but he will not consistently look this good imo which is the main reason he got the "Playoff Rondo" nickname.

I am all for Nunn hopefully getting some good minutes as long as he comes back and demands it with good play.

Rondo has not been great, this was his second good game of the season.

However at least I can trust Rondo to bring the ball up and make good decisions. Westbrook's minutes need to be lowered to the 28-30 range, when Nunn is available, IMO. Especially in the clutch/death. Westbrook closing should not be automatic.

I agree with all that sadly. I'd be lying if I said I had much confidence in Russ or AD making decisions late in the game without Bron.

As long as Melo stays consistent he's kind of locking himself into that clutch lineup so i'd say AD and Bron with Melo for at least now are the only guys i'd go with for sure. Then especially when we get everyone back there will be nights where Russ has no business closing but it will be interesting if Frank actually does it.

Don’t have to worry about WB/Rondo/LBJ lineups…..now just WB/THT/LBJ ones.

This is why I always support players taking big paychecks over loyalty. This man was shipped off to Cleveland.

For all we know, Rondo was interested in helping a good team make a playoff spot. He's going to get minutes, and he wouldn't get them in LA. With Westbrook here, there's just no big role for Rondo.

What this cements IMO, is that we're going to stick with WB until the end of his contract, as his market value is what it is, and there's no better option than to try and make it work around the big 3.

Per Woj

Rondo is eager for the chance to play a bigger role with an ascending Cavaliers team in the absence of Ricky Rubio, sources said. He's been positive on the deal since it was presented to him as an option yesterday.

I don't think it happens otherwise.

Best of luck Rondo!

Loyalty, What is that?

Wonder how many vets are sharing the “happy to get an opportunity “ and ready to jump off this sinking ship called the Lakers.

Rondo may have never been my favorite personality but as a coach on the floor he was excellent.

Wish him luck with his new team. He will get playing time and likely be a positive impact on the young Cavs team.

And now he gets a chance to do something in the playoffs. That is a plus for him.

Rondo is done, yes makes a good assistant coach, not a guy taking a roster spot. Stanley should get his spot. Then drop DAJ and find some forward depth or even a 4/5 to help in ADs absence.

If Rondo truly wants to be a head coach one day this is potentially a great opportunity to help in the development of a young PG such as Garland. He can play a little defense and throw lobs to Allen/Mobley in the minutes vacated by Rubio's injury. Basketballwise it's probably a better look than sitting behind Westbrook on the Laker bench tbh.

How is Rondo already done at 35 when he never relied on his athleticism to begin with?
