the way we are losing. We don't even put up a fight. Do they have the mentality that they can flip the switch and come back from 28 points down?!

Here's the difference. When the Lakers go up by 19, 26, etc, they may very well still lose

When we down by 28, we are not coming back. We will go down by 37 and then lose by 15 to make the box score look respectable.

Disgusting

It feels to me like the players have gone Hollywood, and see themselves as above the coaching staff, and practices are not intense, not structured, and not deliberate. I think we need a Thibbs style coach who is gonna come in and kick their ass every day. Yeah he gets guys injured, but this limited practice culture is going to terminate our championship hopes anyways.

Did we ever trail by 20+ points at all during our championship run?

It’s really as simple as they haven’t looked convincing even with Lebron.

They downplayed the preseason reps.
They got drilled by top echelon teams in the west first 2 games.
They need Lebron just to save the day against the bad teams.

Lebron hasn’t even been enough to beat the better teams. That’s a huge red flag.

The fact of the matter is that LeBron is turning 37 in about 6 weeks who had HAMSTRING/ANKLE/ABDOMEN injuries in the last 12 months. If this was 26 years old PRIME PHYSICAL PEAK 1st year HEATLES LeBron, then that's a whole different story. No one would worry about being 8-7.

100%. We saw it during Kobe's achilles season. We loaded up on big names but we could NOT stay with the young teams that ran out on us. It took a Herculean feat of strength, effort andwill power from Kobe to get us to the playoffs. It's happening all over again but the only saving grace is that we still have Lebron on the way.

That's not the Lakers biggest problem by a long shot.

#1 problem = Team health. We've had at least four players out all season, and the best player since the beginning of this month.

#2 problem - Terrible team defense/rebounding. The lack of size at the SF and PF spots, especially off the bench, has a lot more to do with all the points the opponents put up vs. the Lakers than age does. We're just too small, so teams easily shoot over us and grab more boards even when they miss.

This issue is especially true because of problem #1, but the front office did a bad job at balancing the size of the roster overall to mitigate the impact of losing players to injury.

#3 problem = Russell Westbrook. His stint as a Laker up to this point has been the worst ever so far, IMO. There have been less talented players, but none of them have negatively impacted our production on the floor as much as WB when you consider his poor shooting, erratic passing, stat hunting at the expense of guarding his man, and the amount of minutes, ball handling, and $$$ he takes up as a Laker.

He's looked better in the last two games, so hopefully the coaches and team leaders can keep working on him because he does still have talent, and no one is foolish enough to give us something useful for his atrocious contract and game play.

We definitely have too many guys who are 35+ years old, but we also have enough young legs:

THT, Nunn (when he comes back), Monk, AD, Reaves

Westbrook, Bradley and Dwight aren't old yet.

Acquiring a young, long forward would make us look a lot younger or at least less old imo.
