I love how the Raptors paid him back for that loyalty, they won a chip while he wasted his prime on the worst Spurs in probably 30 years. He had his chance to come and passed, i wanted him too back then but now no. Good riddance _________________ 48 49 50 52 53 54 72 80 82

STFU DD, no need to pile it on. enjoy your regular season success like you did in Toronto and i'll be looking forward to see you CHOKE HARD again in playoffs.
This is the second player to talk about Lakers moves like they were a "done deal," which is really concerning about how Rob handles his business or who's in charge. The Hield deal looked "done" to those involved as well and now here's another deal that the players thought was "done" ... not a good look.
This is like the 4th with Derozan, Alex Caruso, Kuz/Heild, and Dwight last year.
Wait so you're telling me we had all these deals done and Klutch/LeBron and Rob/Jeanie decided that Russell Westbrook the most notorious turnover prone player in the league was the best direction to go? I highly doubt these stories are true.
Lakers didn't want to get hard capped which is what happens if you S&T for DROZ.
Lakers then could offer the mini MLE of about 6m, which is about 1/5th of what he got from Chicago.
Oh, and Popovich is still salty about the Pau Gasol trade from 2 decades ago.
No, you don't get hard capped if you receive the sign and traded player. If you're the team trading the sign and traded player then you get hard capped.

People are misinterpreting what he said. It’s not a matter of whether the deal was about to happen, it’s a question of him being made to feel/being told that it was as good as done.

He’s lying .. if Pop didn’t allow Patty Mills to come even though he was a FA then he’s not gonna be coming here under the guidance of Popovich, it’s easy saying stuff like this when it’s over and done with.

Umm technicalities really matter here. Hard cap and Popovich trading with the Lakers over his dead body.
Wow...so the Lakers had a few players to choose from and they chose WB. Rob deserves executive of the year for bringing WB here. A former MVP with triple double threat for a bunch of scrubs. What a steal!! _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend!

Did he say Pop told him that? His source of communication is gonna be his agent.
I don't think the Lakers wanted to be tied up in a long term deal with DDR already 32 years old. The good thing about Russ is that his contract expires the same time as LeBron's and he can be used as a trade chip or just to free up cap when his deal expires. Rob has frequently talked about his plan to build for the short and long term. Russ definitely isn't an ideal fit but he offers the flexibility to fit into that plan. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."

Pop had nothing to do with where Mills went, he chose the Nets because he thought it was his best chance at a title. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
I wanted DROZ to join the Lakers in 2016, and he turned it down.
But now in 2021, he wants to join a loaded Lakers team.
I think that sort of says something. That when the Lakers needed a face of the franchise, he turned that down. As Kobe said, if you need to be convinced to join the Lakers, it ain't for you. It wasn't for DROZ then. I understand him wanting to hop onto the LBJ/AD train, but it was not going to happen (i.e. we didn't have cap space, was avoiding the hard cap, and good luck trading with Popovich).
